The token went bonkers and could not be reset. Haiz! Then there was an application that had to be submitted to the bank. And then I had to meet a client late-morning.
So I went out early to tapau nasi lemak (because it was too early for chap fan) for mum. I also bought some apples at her request.
After I returned to the office, I waited for my client and after we were done, I went to the bank - to submit the application documents and to resolve my token problem.
The bank officer looked through the documents and she noted that the company rubber stamp was missed out. Adoi! I also had to fill up some forms to apply for a new token. So I had to go back to the office again to get everything in order.
Back at the bank, long story short, all was completed. It was about 1:00pm by then and I was hungry. Most places would be crowded and I decided to try my luck at DiYiTai Plus which I blogged about here.
Oooohh! This Kumquat Lemon was subtly sweet and very tart with a hint of salty. So refreshing! I would order this drink again.
This is the Sesame Oil Mix - liver, pork and chicken in a broth very fragrant with sesame oil. There were ginger slices, half a red date and cabbage in the bowl. Very tasty I would say.
The pickled cucumber was very appetizing. It was an enjoyable meal and I especially loved the drink.
Then off I went to The Starling and dropped by Popular Bookstore.
My Popular Member's Passport deals expired yesterday. Well, I already bought so many books to last me for many months, so I shall refrain from spending for the time being.
I totally agree with the quote! You poor thing! Gosh, pressing an incorrect number and going through that hassle...that would have given me a headache and made me hungry! Glad you got a table and a nice meal after all that! And as soon as I saw the book covers I smiled, because I know how much you love cats. They are the "cat's meow." LOL! I love the title...Once upon a Miao!
ReplyDeleteI'm relieved the days ended well. Indeed I love cats!
DeleteSelamat pagi or rather selamat tengah hari (used from noon, after 11am to around 3pm)!
ReplyDeleteSelamat pagi! Sorry for late reply :)
DeleteI agree with the last poster/quotes, I translate it as 'spend your money on the right things', your health is more important than the 'fake outer body'.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, all materialistic things don't matter if we are unwell.
DeleteTofu will have a strange "chow sng" taste if not fresh and exposed too long, lucky for you that the sesame oil mix turned out tasty for you. Ahhh, I like that cold refreshing drink on a hot hot hot day 🔥
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't "chow sng" but something else in the flavor that was not nice. That drink was very wonderful!
DeleteI like neat and spacious interior when I dine out, somehow if too crowded and the tables closely arranged, I have anxious feelings.
ReplyDeleteI have been to eateries where my elbow could have touched the next table's. LOL!
DeleteI can understand work stress, the hassles at work would give me fever and make me crave for food even more.
ReplyDeleteIn fact one of the days I actually had fever! But it cleared up after a good night's sleep.
DeleteGosh! Boey's once a upon a meow. I have listed books which I will like to buy at Orchard kinokuniya bookstore (Two in my mind). Need to find time to go buy and find time to read them. Yes, it is wise to stop buying at the moment till you clear all your books.
ReplyDeleteI'll wait until year end and if those books are discounted, I might buy hee..hee..
Deleteadusssss.....letih if kena pergi bank so many times ..the pickled cucumber look so sedap
ReplyDeleteYa, very letih!
DeleteGlad that everything was completed at 1pm and you had a good meal except for the tofu with strange taste. That tofu dish should be mapo tofu.
ReplyDeleteYes, looks like mapo tofu but strange tasting.
Deleteglad to hear that everything settled and you had a good meal. The last quote - same goes for me....most $ goes into my mouth! hehehe....
ReplyDeleteLOL! I invest a lot on food heh..heh...
DeleteCouldn't find the two books in my mind (Jane Harper's The Survivors with the bottom crawler words, Small Town. Dark secrets and Cheeming Boey's Once upon a Meow which the staff said they were old stocks of year 2020) at Books Kinokuniya Bugis Junction level 3, so I ended up buying 1. The Cat Who Taught Zen, hard cover book with a lot of illustrations and small print text widely spaced out by James Norbury and 2. The Wisdom of Morrie, living and aging creatively and joyfully by Morrie Schwartz, a soft cover book with plenty of text with no illustration. So guess which book is more expensive hee hee. Thanks for the heads up, I am happy with my purchases though couldn't find my ideal.
ReplyDeleteHard covers are more expensive, am I right? I am glad you bought two books. Some bookshops specialize in old stocks and can buy at marked down prices.
DeleteYup! The hard cover one is more expensive, costs S$37.06.
DeleteI like the looks for the darkly-coloured braised egg. I bought Once Upon a Miao once, didn't find the book very entertaining, so never bought the rest of the series. Looks like the author has a collaboration with Boey for one of his books....hmmm, maybe this one could be better.
ReplyDeleteAh! Then I shall not waste my money hee..hee...
DeleteWas that Mapo Tofu?
ReplyDeleteMaybe though I can't be certain.
