My day was quite smooth (thank goodness!) and past 12.30pm I went out for lunch.
I went to Twins Signature Roast Duck for a roast duck and roast pork combo. I was given a complimentary soup which was quite thin. I only took a few sips. Next time I will decline the soup.
This Hand Ripped Bread looks interesting. I did not see any carrot bread and did not bother to ask the staff since I had no intention of buying.
Then it was off to Popular Bookstore just to look-see-look-see in case they bring out new books or give discounts on books that I was eyeing.
Physics. Anyone like physics? I hated physics when I was in school. And I also had to study physics when I was at university but only in my first year.
When I was in sixth form (at La Salle PJ), while the physics teacher was writing a formula on the calculation of light refraction through a prism (yeah, fascinating), a classmate shot his hand up in the air and piped up "Sir! There is an error in your equation!".
What? Well, I was among the blur sotong (clueless) who did not get it. The teacher thanked Kevin for calling out his error. Well, Kevin, wherever you are, God bless you and I hope you are doing well.
Popular Bookstore does not just sell books. They also sell other merchandise like these Flass (flask+glass ??) which are on sale at 20% off.
Oh! What's this? Upon closer inspection, I realized this is a flask/tumbler carrier. Love the cat motif, right? This one is a Tuxedo.
On my way back to the office, I passed by Two Sons Bistro. I have not visited in a long, long time.
Oh, please send some rain here to Montreal, we really need it! :) Yesterday was beautiful, about 20 Celsius, and I was out taking a long walk...and photos, too! I will share them on my blog after my Expo 67 photo series!
ReplyDeleteI love the cats! You had a roast duck and roast pork combo! Wow, it looks and sounds scrumptious! Here in Montreal at restaurants they combine chicken and ribs! For example, you can order a barbecue chicken leg and some ribs. It is quite good. Expensive, though, but delicious!
There is also another combo...surf and turf, which they call surf 'n turf. It is a dish with a piece of steak or filet mignon and some type of fish. I don't order that because beef for me is difficult to digest.
Carrot bread...hmm, here we have carrot cake, but I bet it is very similar!
Here in Montreal we have bookstores that sell other items as well such as bookmarks, cards, pens, writing stationery, etc. Nice that your bookstores also have a variety.
As far as your duck and pork meal, from your description it doesn't sound like you enjoyed it too much "salty" and "firm but not juicy".
And of course I love the quote at the end of your post, dear friend. Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Quick one. When I was in Secondary three/four, I had an Indian Chemistry teacher by the name of Ms Nara, my cheeky male classmates, he invented a Chemistry formula equation NA = B, so Ms NARA = MS BRA LOL!!! I guess Ms nara had big boobs/hooks. I super hated Chemistry and Physics during my Secondary school days. But I regretted not paying attention during Chemistry class.
ReplyDeleteForm seventh is university after secondary four?
ReplyDeleteI meant pre-university.
