My Sunday Kaw Kaw Chillout

For my non-Malaysian readers and blogger friends, I must explain what is "kaw kaw".

In this context, it means "all out" as in My Sunday All Out Chillout hah...hah...hah...

Well, Sunday is a day of rest but I still have chores to do like laundry and other household stuff. There is no such thing as total chillout with nothing needing to be done. I am sure this rings true for the rest (most) of you too.

Last week, I pushed all my chores to Friday and Saturday. I told myself, this will be worth it (even though it had me doing the last of my chores until almost 8:00pm, usually I would be on the sofa by then. LOL!).

So by Sunday, everything was done woohoo!

As usual, grocery run.

I spotted this Siam Mango Rojak (mango salad).

And avocado products. Smashed avocado. Very convenient, isn't it?

As usual, processed foods like this contain some chemicals.

This Lime & Black Pepper smashed avocado comes in a tube just like my facial cleanser hee...hee...

Then I saw these gorgeous USA Rainier cherries.

Aren't they pretty? I have never eaten these cherries before.

I was very tempted but at RM39.90 .... nah .....

These are my favorite red cherries but again, too pricey.

This nice lady was promoting plant based "meat". I used  to think these were healthy. Now I only eat real meat.

Speaking of real meat, back home, it was time to prep my chillout food. A feast if you may.

Thinly sliced pork belly simply air fried at 200C for 10 minutes. I placed a few cloves of garlic underneath the pork so that they would air fry in the pork lard drippings.

Eaten with some rice and chopped up Chonggak Kimchi. These days I keep my rice portion small.

I also added the fried garlic cloves.

Best way to eat is to mix everything all up and then enjoy!

For dinner I cooked my stir fried minced beef and eggs. This is definitely not an omelette. LOL!

My dinner - with some leftover pork belly and regular kimchi. The raw onions were extras, so I decided to eat them.

I ate my (early) dinner in front of the TV while watching season 3 of Squid Game.

Meanwhile, yesterday I discovered that USA Rainier Cherries are sold at a promotional price of RM28.60 at Jaya Grocer.

  1. Oh, if I see these USA Rainier Cherries, I may buy them because the cherries I bought at jgrocer are those dark deep red types, not these bright orangey vermilion types so curious to know the difference in taste.
Wow, U eat raw onions so after that you are a 🐉🐲 spewing 🔥 or not? I eat raw onions with satay and after that will feel their strong effect.

    1. Since I ate the onions with meat, kimchi and rice all mixed up, I did not feel the full effect of the raw onion hah..hah... Hope to see your opinion on the USA Rainier Cherries if you managed to find them.

  2. Good morning your this blog post makes me laugh. Let me guess. You studied Chemistry during your Secondary and High School days? Lol. Your avocado facial cleanser better keep away from children. I like to "stroll" inside Supermarkets. Different branches of different companies got each individual "surprises". Really very interesting. Thanks for the heads up!

  3. Ahhh, I saw my favorite garlic gloves and raw onions. Nice! My full time vegetarian Buddhist friend used to brainwash me that totally vegetarian food is good. Nah! Not anymore for me. I believe in moderation after seeing fake Thai monks eating Braised pork belly rice at coffeeshops with my own eyes. Hah hah hah!

  4. totally agree with the last picture.... takes good care of the body, everything else is nothing if body fails. I prefer real meat and shall leave the plant as veggies rather than faking it as 'meat' LOL!

  5. Woohoo! Chilling at home. Sing Exchange Rate is rising as compared to US. Hang Sang Index. Of course, not trying to "add salt to someone's wounds".

  6. Your area's Aeon definitely sells more upmarket items than the one near me. That mashed avocado would be good as a spread on toast for breakfast. You wouldn't like cherries....they're overly sweet, so sweet that I ate it once and never again! >.<
