Lately I have been bumping into cats hee..hee... In Damansara Uptown there is a population of cats and they roam everywhere.
As I was walking out of Daiso into the annex that leads to the shop houses where Annie-1 is, I spotted this dirty looking cat.
It is female and appears to be rather friendly. I have seen some ladies petting her and when I approached this kitty, it did not run away. Instead, it allowed me to pet her and she rubbed her head against my hand. I find that so endearing. Someone has been feeding her as I spotted a container filled with dry cat food.
Then I bumped into this fella, a grey male.
He was very friendly too.
This guy had been neutered judging from his very puny ding dongs (no photo hah..hah...).
Notice that the tip of his left ear had been clipped. I learnt from the internet that stray cats that have been neutered have their ear clipped as a marker.
Some of these strays are known as community cats because members of the community feed/play with them. Hence they are socialized and are friendly towards humans. Very unlike feral cats that have had no early contact with humans and these are very hostile.
When I was small, I was taught not to simply go and touch stray cats or dogs because they could bite or they are dirty.
Now that I am a fullblown grown adult, I can ignore that. Hah!
Boy, I wanna take you home!
He is rather adorable.
He was trying to get people to feed him.
I was so taken by him that I walked all the way to 99 Speedmart to get him some food although I know that he has no trouble getting fed.
After that, I never saw him again.
Then a few days later, this little one came along.
Very friendly little thing as it allowed me near it and in fact I carried it (so geram, cannot tahan). I wished I could have taken it home (my partner will pengsan).
But this one at home is enough to keep me very happy.

The cats are very pretty. Especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteYes, his fur was so soft too.
DeleteEkkkkkkk!!!! Shoo shooooo!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteIt's good that stray cats get neutered but it's disheartening to see that their ears get clipped. I wish there was some other way to indicate that they've been neutered instead of deforming their ears! >_< Ah, now you're just like any cat lover, you bump into cats on the streets and they're all so cute (the white one especially) you want to bring them home. I wish I can bring all the cats I meet in my neighbourhood home too if not for the cost, time and effort to raise each one...haiz.
ReplyDeleteI have become a softie for cats. I'll say your Cookie started it all hee..hee... Every time I pass by any pet shop, I would stop to oogle at the cats/kittens. The feeling never gets old, it's like falling in love >.<
DeleteAll those stray cats look adorable. I'm glad there are people out there who try to look after them. Did I tell you once I rescued a kitten with a horrible eye infection from a rest stop along the highway. Took it home for the nite, cleaned it up best I could and next morning took it to a shelter. Gave them a nice donation, begging them to look after her and find her a home. I cried so hard when I left. Btw, I was just visiting Malaysia and unable to adopt the kitty.
ReplyDeleteBless your kind heart! I understand how you felt. These kitties have a way into our hearts and I often look at strays wistfully, wishing that I could take care of them.
Deletethese cats certainly look like they crave human care and companionship. animal abandonment really is unfortunate, ya ...
ReplyDeleteVery unfortunate, I feel so sorry for them as they are such loving creatures.
Deletecute and adorable cats....

DeleteMy neighbourhood also got many cute cats, meow...
ReplyDeleteCats are so adorable. I am a cat person now!
DeleteDid he eat the food you bought him from Speed mart? I hope you will see him again.
ReplyDeleteHe did! I have been looking out for him since but no luck.
DeleteAwww...they are all so cute.
ReplyDeleteI feel so geram for all the them LOL!
DeleteI think the cats are seeing you!
ReplyDeleteAh! They are :)
DeleteI feel sad to see stray dogs and cats as they have their sad looks of being homeless. I wish to feed them all with a roof over their heads.
ReplyDeleteI attended the funeral of an old wealthy family friend of my late parents recently. The house is at Taman Seputeh and I had a shock to see over 25 cats living inside!!!!!! They are well cared by 2 Filipino maids.
I feel sad for them too. Your family friend is so kind to take in the cats. 25 cats is very challenging! Lucky meows.
