It was a Friday and my partner had to go on a trip very early in the morning. So my brother gave me a ride to the office which means come evening - MAKAN!! hee..hee..hee..
We wanted to go to Bonfire but we were too early. Their kitchen fires up at 6:00pm so we headed over to Mr Tuk Tuk which opens the whole day.
Both of us were very hungry and we had these 5 dishes.
Sotong Salad (RM11.80). Very, very spicy, I tell you. But it was good, if only the heat level was toned down it would be better.
We must remember to write a remark for the kitchen to add less chilies if we were to order this again.
The Tom Yam Fried Rice (RM9.81) was the star of the show. This was absolutely delicious. I know my brother wished that we had ordered a plate each. OK, next time hah..hah...
You can find pickled green chilies in their condiment tray (though not every table has this) and I love this with fried rice or noodles.
The Thai Mango Salad (RM9.81) was thankfully not fiery hot. It went very well with the fried rice.
I ordered the Thai Fish Cakes (RM10.80) because I was very impressed when I ate them with the set meal.
This time we had the Green Curry Beef (RM13.80). Though the curry was good, it is a dish that is best eaten with plain white rice.
Our thirst quenchers, the Fresh Lime (RM8.80) and ...
... Fresh Watermelon (RM8.80). Between the two, I prefer my brother's Fresh Lime which was very intense.
This time, we were not overly stuffed like the previous visit. It was just nice, with room for dessert.

We did not have dessert at Mr Tuk Tuk but adjourned elsewhere for ice cream.
Baskin Robbins. We shared this Banana Split (RM30.50), my brother's treat.
Ooooo...Thai! Everything looks so good and is so reasonably priced. I'm saving my favourite one here for special days only - way too pricey to drop by on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with this restaurant. All day dining too, so I can step in at any time of the day.
DeleteBaskin Robbins ice cream is nice ya ..
ReplyDeleteVery nice...
DeleteMango salad is one of my faves - as long as it's not too hot.
ReplyDeleteA favorite of mine too!
DeleteEverything above very "ngam" me... Thai food and the BR... only then the meal is complete!
ReplyDeletehah..hah...I very agree with you!
Deleteit was also very beatifully served on these plates, except of the plastic mugs:)
ReplyDeleteYes, I love the plates too and they are in my favorite color :)
DeleteAll dishes look delicious! I will try to remember to ask them not to put too spicy in all the dishes that I order next time. Thanks for the warning!
ReplyDeleteI must remember too LOL!
DeleteIf the sotong salad was too spicy for you (and you being able to eat cili padi without a care), the rest of us have no chance of surviving this...haha! :D OMG, that ice cream is almost half the price of your meal already...luckily, I'm cutting down on sweets this year! ^_* It's great to see you still have such a wonderful bond with your brother still (eating out together, sharing ice cream). Most, as we grow older, tend to lead separate lives (especially so when we have our own families).
ReplyDeleteLOL! My brother and I can go on being best friends as long as he stays single hee..hee...
DeleteYummy! My pick goes to the sotong salad! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGood choice!
DeleteYour sibling makan outings always look fun ... especially when both of you have an eager love for food! Some people might stop after the Thai dishes, but I love that you continued with ice cream :D
ReplyDeleteWe love food and we simply cannot resist having an ice cream after the meal!
DeleteAlamak!
ReplyDeleteI've been craving for Thai food.
This post is EVIL!
LOL
hah..hah... Next time you go Starling check this place out.
DeleteEverything looks good. I am drooling at the curry photo. :)
ReplyDeleteThe curry is very good :)
DeleteYou are right, best to eat green curry with plain rice
ReplyDeleteYup.
DeleteIt's always good a have a dining companion like your bro who share the love for food eh :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the best!
DeleteDrooling, drooling over your dinner and ice cream! I love Thai food!
ReplyDeleteMe too have a weakness for Thai food.
Deletehaha...u bro & sis are so close & still share ice-cream together...
ReplyDeleteu siblings can enjoy food so much, unlike my sis who is 'dieting', so most of time I go solo in my food adventure :-(
That's the advantage of staying single hee..hee... Your sis sure won't makan with you as her diet will koyak LOL!
