Last Friday I played handyman at my brother's house.
My brother is very busy, so I helped to replace a broken toilet seat. Prior to that I got a tutorial from my partner.
So now I know how to change a toilet seat. A very useful skill heh...heh...
Before going to the house, I went to Twins Signature Roast Duck to buy duck rice for mum.
While waiting for the duck rice, I took a photo of the cute cat figurines.
I think this little fella is the God of Prosperity.
After a nice chit chat with mum (who was very impressed with my work in the toilet LOL!) I made my way to Antipodean. That's something to look forward to Fridays.
This escalator was finally working.
My poor Teddy bear toppled when I stirred the coffee.
This was the children's play area behind my seat which I mentioned in an earlier post.
My order that day was Moroccan Beef Kebab with Golden Couscous.
Two skewers of beef, turmeric infused couscous, two slices of tomatoes, yogurt dip, salad and fries.
I removed the meat from the skewers.
The beef was tender and so tasty. Eating the beef with couscous reminded me of eating biryani rice because that was the flavors evoked. I would definitely have this again, maybe I'll try the lamb next time.
Ah! A slice of Carrot Cake, why not?
The cake was not sweet and was well complemented with the (not too sweet) cream cheese frosting.
I loved this Carrot Cake. Eaten with no guilt hee..hee...
Right opposite Antipodean, there was a small display of books for sale.
It's extraordinary that the books are left unattended, relying on the honesty and integrity of the public.
You take your pick and make payment using the QR code provided.
I browsed the books but did not find anything to my liking.
I walked back to DU and I was sweating profusely as it was terribly hot.
Back at the office, I changed out of my sweaty tee shirt and it was back to work!
Dear PH, I love the illustration at the end of your post! Wonderful lesson! Your photos are beautiful. Lovely flowers. How nice of you to help your brother fix the broken toilet seat. The cake looks very good, and I like the fact that it wasn't too sweet.
ReplyDeleteBooks for sale...what fun! I don't know why, but I still love children's books and I am 69! LOL! The only children's book I actually own is a Children's Bible...the illustrations are lovely and it is easy to read and understand. (not that I would have trouble understanding, but sometimes there may be certain Scriptures that the children's version makes it easier to picture the scenario, etc.) I am sure you get what I mean.
Your beef skewers dish looks great!
Wow! A big clap for you πππ
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed a skilful handy woman πͺ
Your kebab meal sounds delicious π
Maybe it is time for me to eat at this cafe again in Midvalley mall.
Have a fabulous Friday π
