I have not eaten pasta in a long time. Now that I am eating carbohydrates more frequently, pasta came to mind. My carbs for now are rice and bread (only for one meal and on non-consecutive days).
I still do intermittent fasting and I follow the first bite rule. The first meal when breaking a fast must be proteins and fats to avoid a big insulin spike.
Since I wanted to eat pasta, my first meal was eggs and avocado.
Washed down with a Caffe Matcha (with "no sugar" request). This time the Caffe Matcha was different from the one I had earlier.
I very much preferred the first one (on the left). My second Caffe Matcha had a stronger matcha green flavor (even after I stirred the drink). I guess I won't order this drink again.
But I will have to make enquiries if they have weekend classes. I took up taekwondo from standard five to form 2 but I did not have the opportunity to earn my black belt. My mum stopped my classes when I was in form 3 (because of SRP exam) and I have not forgiven her for that. Hah!
Later that day I was at Antipodean for lunch. But no, I changed my mind and did not order pasta. Spaghetti is too carby and will not be good for me.
Much to my regret it was terrible. Terrible is an understatement. The whole thing was like a piece of wax (instead of like a custard). The lemon flavor was overpowering and the meringue was watery and too sweet.
I simply could not finish it (a blessing in disguise). This one I suspect has been siting in the fridge or (God forbid) freezer for way too long. But I did not complain.
That my first upset at Antipodean. My displeasure did not go unnoticed. I have a story coming up soon!
Meantime this week at The Starling.

Dear friend, I haven't 'met' your cats, but I love them! LOL! Adorable photos, PH! And I love thanking our cats or other pets for all the emotional support they give us! So important for our mental and physical health!
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast plates look scrumptious, and the presentations are lovely!
I also enjoyed your photos of your walking tour! Speaking of shoes, I purchased a new pair of Skechers slip-ons two weeks ago! I only had one pair of sneakers...and they are black leather and a wee bit tight, so these Skechers are a lighter colour...gray and pink, and I don't have to tie them on, just slip into them! They are wide as well, as I really need comfortable shoes for the long walks I enjoy taking when the weather is suitable and safe for me to do so.
Thank you so much for sharing your posts, I am always happy to see what you share here!
