Lamb

On my walk back from Damansara Jaya, I decided to survey the shophouses to see if there was anything interesting.

The shop with the yellow shopfront, Botanique, is new. Vegetarian Private Kitchen, it says. Next to it is Welcome Vegetarian

A few doors away is Clean Eating Grocer. I guess the health nuts in Damansara Jaya are very fortunate to have this organic food supplier in their neighborhood.

Coffee lovers are also lucky because just next door is Daily Coffee House. I must check them out one day. Right above the Panasonic shop is Sneaky Burger. I have tried their burgers via food delivery and the burgers are awesome. I should dine in some time.

Back at The Starling, I chanced upon a packet of lamb trimmings at Jaya Grocer.

This is how much it costs. I don't often find these on the shelves.

There was quite a lot of meat and fats.

I cooked these in the air fryer.

Cut into smaller pieces to make it easier to eat.

As usual, my meaty meals are accompanied by kimchi.

I found a rather interesting short video clip of an interview with RFK Jr on his new diet. Watch here.

  1. Hi dear friend 🧑 I absolutely love ❤️ lamb πŸ˜‹ We get New Zealand πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ lamb here in Montreal and it is delicious. We also have lamb from here in Quebec and whenever I see lamb at a good price I grab it.

    1. Lamb is so pricey and I can't afford to eat often. So cheaper trimmings are a welcome find.

  2. Good morning. Very windy and cooling this morning as it rained heavily midnight while I was sleeping. Had double caffeine this morning already. One home made and one dabao as I went out for my breakkie. As usual I love your Poster/quote, it is very encouraging. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Gosh accidentally press the delete button so I have to type my comment again. Unfortunately for me, lamb always comes with curry as in roti prata with mutton curry or nasi biryani with mutton curry and I can't take spicy food too often plus I don't know how to cook lamb at home. Are there other ways of cooking lamb other than the Indian way (oh yes there is the Kambing soup also) such as cooking lamb the Chinese way?

    1. Oh dear! I remember SK advised that we should copy our own comments first before we click publish just in case. There is Chinese way of cooking lamb - stir fry and also soup. But lamb/mutton curry is my favorite!

  6. Ah, you are smart to use a kitchen scissors ✂️ to cut the lamb into bite sizes. I must go get a kitchen scissors ✂️ because I have weak teeth and I think the scissors would be very handy for me.
Your lamb dish must be yummy πŸ˜‹πŸ€€ with kimchi πŸ˜€

  7. To the best of my understanding, the fat part of the lamb is the most gamey part, does it?

    1. Yes, fortunately this batch that I bought was not gamey. The lamb smell was mild.

  8. Two vegetarian restaurants open side by side? They didn't do their research before this? Lol, good luck to them both, I guess.

    1. Hope you don't mind Kris, in SG, it is not uncommon for vegetarian restaurants to be opened near to one another in the same vicinity cos they cater to different target groups, some high end, some tasty and affordable and the benefit of opening close to one another, it earns its name of being "a vegetarian food chains zone" so people will know and they will have more choices (each restaurant/stall serves different types of vegetarian food). Just my two cents worth, hee hee.

    2. Kris : hah..hah... but they are different style. Welcome Vegetarian is chap fan style while the other one is cafe/bakery style.
