Let's Get Fat

It's Friday folks. Is it your favorite day? Growing up in Kuala Terengganu, that was definitely my favorite day (besides Thursday) because Friday is a weekend over there.

And even now, Friday is still my favorite day because the next day is Saturday. And also because on Friday, I allow myself to go out and eat Curry Mee. LOL!

Coming back to my post title, as you know I torture myself (not all the time) with weight issues. I found two videos on Youtube which you may find interesting.

First one is Claire Sweeney's My Big Fat Diet, where this lovely actress let's herself go and eats whatever she likes for 6 weeks and faced the consequences. Very familiar situation  - happens to me everytime when I go back to Kuala Terengganu hah..hah...

And the second video I found so inspiring, Elle Ip's Beyond Expectations. This Australian mother of two began her journey to become fit in 10 months to enter a sports modelling competition. Looking at her post pregnancy, it was hard to imagine her achieving her goal. But she did it.

I am not advocating that we should all look like that or suggesting that I aspire to look like Elle. Her story illustrates the power of determination and it is her conviction to go against the odds to succeed that I find truly inspiring. We should all apply a little bit of that in our life.

Have a great weekend!

  3. You have a great weekend too, my dear.

I love Friday too because it is time to breathe and relax after busy weekdays with kids.

Curry mee. I would like a plate too...no good curry mee in Kuching. Used to have one but I think they have closed down many years ago. Curry rice, few good shops here.

  4. I like Fridays too nowadays. I am all for eating whatever we like. As long as it is in moderation, everything should be ok by right. I have known people closer to home who lose 10kg from 76ish to 66ish in just 3 months by eating clean and exercise but as long as we are happy with who we are, that is all that matters.

    1. You are right. Moderation is key. My bad habit is eating a lot when I love the food.

  5. Did you have this curry mee last Friday too. From the comment you left on my blog, I thought you had this on Wednesday (which didn't turn out that great for you). Maybe you had it too often and your expectation has increased....hee...hee! ;) And don't torture yourself, my dear, with weight issues or watch these all inspiring videos of weight loss (that only few can achieve)...haha! :D Just live well and live healthy :)

  6. I love to eat the KL's curry mee with lots of char siew! That lady's before and after poses really raised my eyebrows! If you start blogging about keeping fit and eat only salad, you might loose all your fan readers! Wakakakaka

    Happy Weekend to you everyday!

  11. Oh my! Look at that bowl of curry laksa! With sinful char siew some more! I think I eat first, and start the diet after that bowl!
I always thought of going on a diet, sensibly of course, but my willpower has no sense of any power at all!

  14. I don't quite have a favourite day - I dislike Fridays cos it's the worst traffic jam days, Saturdays bring back bad memories for me cos it was the day I was forced to attend church and tuition classes as a kid, Sundays mean the weekend is over, and Monday is back to work! I guess I look at the worst side of each day, heheh ;)

  15. Hi Phong Hong,
Somehow I'm always eating in moderation in all kinds of food. But lack of discipline to exercise regularly to keep myself healthy. Friday is my favourite day though ^-^!
