Saturday morning instead of going to Halla Holla, I decided to drop by Yitcha Kaw Kaw Kopitiam instead.
There was a time when it was not possible to go there for breakfast on weekend mornings because they would be jam packed with customers.
But don't get me wrong. They are still very popular.
It's just that the initial novelty has worn off and people no longer come in droves.
But they still command a good patronage daily.
The physical menu has seen better days.
They have migrated to a QR ordering system as most eateries have done.
My favorite drink Kopi C with no sugar. For the uninitiated, Kopi C is local black coffee with evaporated milk. The "C" stands for "Carnation", a brand of evaporated milk. And yes, Carnation is a very pretty flower.
And then.
Three orders of soft boiled eggs.
One bowl can hold four eggs. The server who brought the light soy sauce and pepper did a double take when she saw my order.
Ahhhh ...... I love soft boiled eggs! I did not add anything to my eggs.
My last two eggs. That was a very good breakfast.
All that for RM18.10. Sure, it is cheaper for me to make my own eggs. But I fail at making soft boiled eggs. They always end up almost cooked. And if I had to make these at home, I'd have to eat very early in the morning. Can't do that.
After my hearty brekkie, I went to get lunch for mum and walked to Damansara Jaya. I had a nice chit chat with her. It was a good Saturday and I looked forward to chilling out on Sunday.

Good morning! It rained heavily this morning at 8am until it lightened to a drizzle now. I welcome the ☔🌧️ rain. Singapore is built in a way where most places are covered with shelters just that at times you need to take the long cut. But still I will bring an umbrella just in case.

I prefer the stall holder or boss to break the eggs and put them into plate/bowl for us first before serving so that it will not get messy and dirty. Have a good week ahead dear. ReplyDeleteSame here, I am ok with making hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs but not good at making runny fried eggs and soft boiled eggs, the soft boiled eggs usually ended up too raw/watery or almost cooked. I love your hearty breakkie and they looked delicious. It's ok not to add any soy sauce or pepper, still they tasted yummy and tasted more original and authentic.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, I googled Malaysia population year 2025, it is 35 million as compared to SG's 6 million, looking at the physical geographical size of Malaysia, no wonder your country is not as over crowded.
