What Have I Been Eating?

Or rather, where have I been? Missing again for almost a week. Haiz...

I have been eating loads of chap fan lately. No more food prep. In fact I told my partner, eh, you eat chap fan lah. In terms of time cost, it is not really worth while to spend so many hours during the weekend to food prep.

As you can see, I eat a whole lot of food and my chap fan costs me between RM8.00 and RM11.00.

Besides the time cost issue, with chap fan you get so much variety at affordable prices.

I admit that I am getting lazier. I just want to lepak during the weekends. The thought of facing raw ingredients and pots and pans make me depressed. Maybe it's burnout.

I just can't face bulk cooking at the moment. So I decided to just give myself a break.

Why not, right?

Last Saturday I went up to Li Wei (CLOSED) and had chicken rice. Hah!

Then on Sunday, I refused to do anything. So I Grabfood. And watched the whole season of Hellbound

This is the Salt Beef Sandwich from The Butcher's Table. The priciest sandwich I have ever bought.

But worth it because it was so good! And I felt really happy. Doing nothing but eating and watching TV. My childhood dreams came true wahahahaha!!!

My two girls are still keeping me company. So I'll see you again when I see you. Hopefully soon.

  2. your chap fan is so fully loaded until cannot see the rice...yes, that's my kind of meal! with the price increase in groceries particularly in poultry and veggies, the chap fan no longer economical...sooner roti also will be pricey. Better splurge in eating chap fan now before it become a 'luxury food'.

  3. I can't hardly see the rice in your chap fan!! Gosh. That was a lot of dishes. Lol.

Agree. Better to spend and enjoy than working hard on food prep.

  4. Hellbound is so unpredictable so it holds our attention. My friends can't wait for season 2. Good to hear from you. Yes I 100% support no cooking and just take it easy and eat out or get delivery. Love the amount of different dishes in your chap fan. I see a whole lot of green chili padi in your chap fan. Not pedas? Thanks for the photo of both girls. Good to see them. And I like your marble floor instead of tiles floor. Please take good care and stay safe! 🙏

  8. Actually, cost wise, I realise it's not much of a savings when you cook for 1 - 3. If you have a big family, then only the cost savings can be felt. Ya, I'm also off cooking for a while (and only cook when I feel like eating fish) + there's ShopeeFood...lol! I can see why your salt beef sandwich is the priciest sandwich you've ever bought since salt beef is expensive (for something pricey, I expected the packaging to be better). I love salt beef too but it's not so good for us...you can say it's the beef version of pork luncheon meat lah...high in fat & sodium! >_< Haha, your blogging frequency is now becoming like mine...see you in a week? Hee...hee..hee.

    1. You are quite right about that. In fact cooking for 1-3 could be more expensive since we don't have economies of scale and if we factor in our time etc. So I am enjoying my chap fan and my free time on weekends hee..hee.. Ah, I am trying to get my blogging mojo back. I might post more frequently now, hopefully!

  9. Your chap fun looks very delicious. I agree, all these cooking at home during lockdown is getting onto me too. Besides you're doing your part in supporting the hawker industry which suffered so much during lockdowns.*thumbs up*

    1. I tell myself that too - I am giving my support to the hawkers/restaurants by not cooking. What a noble excuse, right? hah..hah..hah... Eating out is definitely what I want right now!

  10. If I have Zap Fan, the dishes would be piled up high like yours too, but without the rice lah, hehe :P
My eyes almost pop out when I saw the amount of chili padi u had with you meal :P It's maybe nothing to many but for a person who doesn't eat cili padi, that's a lot!
The salt beef looked like not very generous is portion, curious how much u paid for the sandwich?
