Unplanned Big Breakfast

It was a dull day at the office last Saturday. I couldn't focus although I came in to clear off some work. When I am bored I think of food.

BIG BREAKFAST. I want.... I was thinking of it since the day before. It's been a while. I love BIG BREAKFAST.

So I sent my thoughts to my brother. And he was like "tsk...tsk..tsk.. want to go ah?" And I was like "Want..." And that was it. We had an impromptu date.

Parking at 3 Damansara was a breeze. Not a good sign for the mall but great for us.

We wanted the Big Breakfast here but when we got there, we were informed that they were having some electrical issues and could we come back, say 30 minutes later. What a bummer.

So we walked around to pass time and also to see if there were any other alternatives.

Then we saw this.

We walked closer to check the menu (bah! I should have snapped a photo of it) and we noted that they have Big Breakfast! So we decided to step inside.

Ordering is done and paid at the counter. The cafe was not crowded and we were free to sit anywhere we pleased.

It's quite a nice place. Very peaceful and relaxing.

The coffee was good though my brother's Latte suffered some spillage and was not warm enough.

The Big Breakfast did not disappoint. There was a big smoked chicken sausage, hash brown, creamy scrambled eggs, toast, sauteed mushrooms, baby potatoes and a salad of cucumber and tomatoes.

Portion size was ample enough for us and we were happy although we admit that we would have preferred the one at the other place. But I was happy that my brother granted my wish for a Big Breakfast.

Back at the office and some hours later....

heh...heh...heh.....

tsk...tsk...tsk...

Salted Caramel Drizzle Chocolate Cake. Not bad. The popcorn was already soft and I reckon it is one of those things that is only good to use as deco just before serving.

Mango & Passion Mille Crepe Cake Slice. I liked this one better. The mango and passionfruit were very refreshing flavors. I could detect gelatine between the layers of this cake.

I was not looking forwards to the evening's dinner.

Hint...hint...

That's why I was tanking up my stomach. But I could be wrong. We shall see.

  1. Ah? Why ah? Why not looking forward to dinner of pizzas? Don't like the company that you will be eating with? Union is pork free place ah? Why big breakfast no pork? For me, only got pork I will order big breakfast. Lolx! The cakes look tasty. I don't know which bakers they take from so I don't dare to order from eatcaketoday.

    2. I think u mean u don't like the cheese. Many italian dishes can be done without cheese so no worries there.

  2. I like the place. Like you said, very peaceful and relaxing. Was it a gourmet sausage they made themselves or one of those sold everywhere outside? My girl loves hash browns, not me, and mushrooms too. She'd like this Big Breakfast...and yes, the scrambled looked nicely done - they simply cannot get it right at a lot of places.

  6. I wanted a big breakfast from one cafe recently but ended up ordering wrongly! hahahaa... This time I will go and ask them personally instead of ordering from the menu... hahaha... PH, I am eyeing your desserts too!

    1. The menu must have been confusing! Big Breakfast is always the best. Hope you get it the next time.

  7. I love Big Breakfasts too....but tend to be selective of the places who offer them. I only like it if they offer something house-made on the plate...and get terribly disappointed when they come made up of ingredients that I can buy off the shelf and make at home.

I wonder why you're not looking forward to the evening's dinner unless you've eaten before a'Roma before? Or you read the reviews? Or you're getting yourself ready for Italian food where cheese is not your 'friend? Kekeke! :D Well, I'm sure I'll be reading about it soon. ^_~ P/S: I hear their pasta is made inhouse (as in the fresh kind), so that's something to look forward to, isn't it? ;)

    1. Italian food is just not my thing hah..hah.. and yes, I am, terrified of the cheese! The pasta was not bad but I couldn't really enjoy it as it was shared among the party.

  8. Who in their right frame of mind doesn't love Big Breakfast anyway? But what am I seeing? Cucumber, in Big Breakfast? Is that the norm now that I have not been dining out since who knows when?

    1. Hello there! It took a Big Breakfast to make you come put of the woodwork, eh? Yes, quite unusual to see cucumber in Big Breakfast but I don't mind it at all.
