My roast chicken do not turn out well all the time. Sometimes, they look like this one. Gordon Ramsay would yell "What in the bloody hell is that, Madam???!!!"
I wasn't quite in the zone that day, ok? I had no neither mood nor inclination for what I was doing. You know, those days when you feel so....blah.....when that happens, even a simple roast chicken gets messed up.
It tasted as good as it looked. So difficult to eat. Bleaks! But don't worry, I ate it with salad (over a few days) and it was not wasted.
Then that afternoon, I searched for roasted chicken on Youtube and this one got my attention.
Haiz....see the mashed potatoes also feel so excited.
Anyway, there will be another roasted chicken attempt. I better be in a good mood.
Ish! Tak senonoh! |
Aiyor!!! Looks completely naked!!! You stripped it of its skin kah? Oooo...I love the skin, roast chicken.
ReplyDeletehah..hah...yes, it does look skinless but it is not. What a disaster!
DeleteYikes, you forgot to rub it with some kind of browning agent? Like either butter, soy, sugar, honey, spices?? I was just about to say this type of roast chicken will be good when you strip off the flesh and toss it in a salad...and then I read that's how you ate it! ;) I never roast whole chickens coz I don't know how to truss a chicken like you.
ReplyDeleteI did apply some butter on the skin :( But I tried again and managed to get better results. Will post that soon :)
DeleteIf it is all cooked then ok lah for me. Good to hear that you finished it. That's why I didn't get a call from you to collect it. ;)
ReplyDeletehah..hah... Eaten with salad it was palatable.
DeleteSo sorry to say that it is really pale looking but it's ok, Christmas is 2 weeks away, u still have time to tweak the recipe :) Jia You!
ReplyDeleteI tried again and it turned out better.
Deletekelinga albino chicken? tell beeno if they dont behave next time, they will be turned into kay char eam nom nom nom
ReplyDeletehah..hah.. Don't think it will taste nice as kay char eam >.<
DeleteYa really very pale
ReplyDeleteYa, terrible.
DeleteFood does turn out differently when you are in the mood. I feel you.
ReplyDeleteHope a better roasted chicken next time. Try again.
I made another one that looks better :)
DeleteNo worries madam. You have 2 more weeks to tweak the recipe. As the Christmas comes nearer, your mood must be very good loh...
ReplyDeleteI bet the best is yet to come :p
hah..hah.. Thank you for your confidence in me :)
DeleteI didn't think your chicken looked that bad. I liked the look of the glistening herby skin.
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind to me hee..hee...
DeleteYou know, PH, my new oven is still "sitting" in the kitchen untouched.. not turning white as yet, *hopefully*... and I thought of starting off with chicken drumsticks first before roasting it whole... maybe chicken in"birthday suit" looks like that one... wearing a dress is somehow different a bit. :)
ReplyDeletehah..hah... Quick quick, roast the chicken drumsticks for Christmas dinner :)
DeleteHi Phong Hong, fully agree with you. Mood is very crucial and usually when there is too many things in our mind or in hand to complete, some will go hay wire. Thought of giving up posting the recipe ...
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmy! You are right. Must be relaxed and in the right frame of mind or else the food will not turn out well.
DeleteI will be targeting at the next chicken you are roasting, I better stand by and be on my way to KL, lol...
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteOMG! That albino chicken looked terribly sick before and after roasting. You probably need to rub more honey to make it look golden!
ReplyDelete#AyamSakit
hah..hah...so pale and sickly >.< Not enough supplements :D
DeleteI still dare not bake a whole chicken, dare not think how it will turn out. Maybe I will just try using thighs first. But must wait for good mood first. Lol!
