Dinner with the Parents

After our curry mee/wanton mee lunch, before we knew it, it was time for dinner. I thought it would be nice to revisit Simply Ribs. My brother and I enjoyed the food and I reckon my mum and dad would too.

My brother enjoys his Latte at anytime of the day. Mum and I opted for iced green tea while my dad asked for warm water.

Mum's selection, the Grilled New Zealand Lamb. She commented that it was good though the meat was slightly tough.

Dad's Fish & Chips came served like this.

Peekaboo! The fish and chips were enclosed in a piece of paper.

My dad seemed to enjoy his Fish and Chips.

My brother selected the Braised Australian Lamb Shank which he declared delicious as it tasted like my mum's beef stew.

As for me, I had the Oh Yeah Smokey Ribs. Though it tasted good, for the amount of meat I felt did not justify the price.

The salad was exceptional on account for the charred prawns and squid. Everyone loved it. I would not mind having this as a main meal should I find myself here again.

Mum was so pleased that she insisted on picking up the tab and we let her have the pleasure of treating us to a lovely dinner.

  2. So good your parents!!! My father, when he was alive, would frown at anything western. He would insist on Chinese all the time even when travelling abroad.

  4. I spy the prawns in your salad so I will definitely order this salad and also the lamb shank since your brother says that it is very tasty. I presume that your parents will be here in KL to celebrate Xmas lunch/dinner with all of you. So very warm to have the whole family together.

  7. The gravy of the lamb shank looks quite dark in colour, rather different with what I normally had :P

    1. Yes, they are OK with western food so we have more choices of what and where to eat :)

  9. The salad looks the most appetising to me, so that would be my pick :) Around RM80 for beef ribs is quite reasonable I think (these days) coz even Tony Roma's ribs cost RM60 - RM70 (anyway beef ribs are usually more expensive than pork ribs).

    1. That salad was the star of the show, really good. I agree, beef robs are very pricey. But I felt like I was paying for the bones hah..hah..
