Since 2023 when my parents moved here due to my late dad's deteriorating health, my Saturdays have been occupied.
It was pretty much visiting my parents at my brother's house, hospital visits and nursing home visits. I had to sadly give up my Saturday zoom sessions with the Steak and Butter Gang which I enjoyed a lot.
Now that dad is no longer with us and mum is in much better health, I am now taking back my Saturdays. Monday to Friday is food and newspaper delivery to mum with a chit chat session Fridays.
Last Saturday was my first Saturday free. Of course it is not free free because I still work Saturdays. But I will have the option to take Saturdays off as and when I choose to.
These are my Zinnia seedlings. I'll write about these later.
This was a seedling that I planted earlier (only two germinated) which is about the bloom. I will share the photo once the flower appears.
I had to run an errand and decided to have breakfast at Hartton Kitchen.
I wanted to try their sandwiches.
Their sandwiches are not very exciting because the fillings are quite ordinary - cheese, turkey ham, fluffy eggs, beef bacon, that sort of thing.
I chose the beef bacon with two add on - avocado slices and fluffy egg. They also provide a plastic glove to keep my hand clean.
It was a very filling sandwich - there was lettuce, avocado slices, beef bacon, fluffy egg and cheese. The eggs here are really fluffy and light, I don't know how they do it.
Even though I had misgivings about their black coffee, I ordered a latte. Surprisingly it was good. I think the milk made it taste better.
On my way to Jaya Grocer to pick up my groceries (oink oink and beef) I passed by the auto repair shop and stopped to admire the water lilies. So pretty!
In the afternoon I went for a movie, Predator Badlands (thanks to my brother for alerting me on this movie). I loved the movie as I have been a fan of the original Predator.
My brother sent me this joke which was funny but it was even funnier after I watched the movie (Yautja is the name of the predator clan and Kwei was the name of one of the predators. So Yautja Kwei sounds like "yau char kueh" a delicious deep fried dough).
On my way up to the theater, I noted that PWR gym was all boarded up.
On the same floor I saw this.
Hmmmm...
It was right next to this one that is still not open for business yet.
Well, I had a very good Saturday and look forward to many more!
Hi dear friend, Amen to this quote!!! And your photos are beautiful...the flowers, the meal you had and the restaurant looks cozy and clean. The water lilies made me think of our dear friend, Lotus! :)
ReplyDeleteI am not big on sandwiches, so although your sandwich looks attractive in a photo, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it. However, there are some sandwiches that I do like! Bacon and tomato with lettuce and mayonnaise, grilled cheese, smoked salmon and cream cheese...not many, but some. :)

ReplyDeleteGood morning it rained heavily this morning over at SG. A very nice weather to sleep in. I love fluffy and light eggs especially if it comes with a light tinge of sweetness and buttery taste. The cafe's interior looks very inviting and comfortable. I am ok with sandwiches but will not have it on a regular basis. The water lilies look so lovely to look at, good that the auto shop has maintained it well. Good that you are regularly delivery food and newspaper to your mom with a chit chat session on Fridays so that she won't feel boring. Have a good day ahead!
