I Have Run Out of Posts....So How????

Has anybody ever run out of posts? Hands up!
Hmm..... As I mentioned in my previous post, I have not been doing much cooking or baking. I have been simply chucking stuff into the steamer or oven. Or throwing things into the wok and stirring everything together. These kind of things are not fit to appear in the blog hah...hah...Hopefully this weekend, I can focus on doing some simple but decent cooking.

My campak-campak dish. The outcome of a stirring session with the wok.

Meantime, I have to find something to amuse you. I have some photos I snapped during a trip not too long ago. Originally I had no intention whatsoever to put this up. But this is all I could dig out from my photo folder. I have seen some travel posts on some of your blogs and you take such lovely pictures and you can tell people where you were and the name of the places you visited. My problem is, I can't remember the names hah..hah...So where did I go? I went here :

Universal Studio

To see this guy :

Photo frame couldn't accommodate both of us.
I am not exactly the touristy type and I only took pictures of what I like. And if you know me, I love plants and flowers. I was in LA and was rather enchanted with the flowers planted by the sidewalks and turfing. Early one morning, I snapped these pics. The citizens of LA cannot understand why this woman is so taken with flowers planted by the roadside. But most Malaysians will understand why.

And these are the other sights in LA. When you are in LA you have to take a picture of this :

Hollywood here I come!
My favorite actor.
My childhood idol.

I can't afford the shoes here.
Santa Monica Pier.
A posh place. I dare not go in.

I was very enchanted with the beautiful hanging basket of flowers.

These lovely flowers were on sale outside the pharmacist :

I wanted to buy everything.
Poppies?

Decorative kale.

Flowers, flowers, flowers and plants! And what, no pictures of food? Well, when it was time to eat I was so hungry that taking pictures just slipped my mind. Besides, I still haven't got the hang of snapping pics while dining out. I find it awkward. In fact when I snapped pics during my Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner, I felt a little bit weird but I did it anyway to document what was served.

So there! At least I get to update my blog and I feel better. Hee...hee....Food coming up soon next week :) See ya!

  1. Woi woman! Show me your face! I know you cropped yourself from Mr. Shrek in the 2nd picture, ngam mou?

When I run out of stuffs to write, I always post about food.. Easy ma, post some pictures, describe the food, then puji nice or not, the price and all (optional), then end with some nonsense sentence, keke.. I don't mean home cooked food, if you feel they are not fit to be in the blog, you can post the food you eat outside ma, interesting jugak kan?

Or you can post about what you do daily.. I am interested to read what people do in a day also.. Like what time wakeup, go where, do what, come back, clean house, cook, watch a movie, etc, and I'm sure you will have some pictures to post if you write a post like that..

You are right, there are other things to write about. After all, my blog is about baking, cooking and everything in between. So maybe next time I can share some of the boring stuff which you might find interesting :)

    1. Hi Kimmy, this is such a small part of LA hah...hah...The flowers were so beautiful and they are planted at the roadside and dividers. I wish I could bring the flowers home! But I know I can't do that and they won't be able to grow here :(

  6. The first thing that came to my mind after reading the title of this post is you are super efficient to be able to run out of post! To be able to cook, sort out the photos and post everything that you have made is diligent. Me? I am no where near, my photo folder is fast becoming a junk folder :))

    1. Oh? Hah...hah....I didn't see it that way :D I cook only once or twice a week and sometimes I cook the same thing. That doesn't give me the opportunity to gather new material :(

  8. PH, even you said you're out of posts, you still have the inspiration of posting your photos from your vacation! Applause for you! As for me, when I said I am out of posts, it means I really don't have anything to post. Anyway, thanks for sharing those pictures, especially of the flowers. Now, I know what to post when I am out of posts next time, hehee.

  14. Hi Phong Hong,
Answer to your first sentence...nope I have never ran out of posts, because I cook everyday and even though I do not post all that I'v cooked and baked, there are many more posts waiting to be posted! Taking photos of flowers are so natural with us ladies, I guess. Especially when there's beautiful flowers that we cannot find in our own country!
It is wonderful that you have been to LA! Your cropped Shrek photo, make me smile, I would do the same too! LOL!
In my early working years in KL, when someone says they are working in LA, going to work in a BMW, they meant they are working in Leboh Ampang, going to work in Bas Mini Wilayah! Hahaha! I'm sure you knew that! Just that it reminds me of those years!

    1. Hi Joyce! Hah...hah....I have not heard of that LA and BMW joke before! I was very taken with the beautiful flowers. They are probably very common flowers there but I guess to us, they are very special. I am glad I got the chance to visit LA but my stay was too short and I didn't cover very much. Just a bit here and there but I feel that it is more for young people and children especially would love Universal Studios and of course, Disneyland!

  17. Hi Phong Hong, your lovely post brought back fond memories of my 3 month stay in LA 14 years ago when my elder child was only 2 years old. Like you, I took pictures of flowers from the road sides too ;) I missed the time we spent beach hopping, hiking at the national parks and even the visits to the super marts! Thanks for sharing your happy moments too!

    1. Hi HHB! Wow. it must be so nice to spend 3 months in LA! I also enjoyed visits to the supermart because it is so different from our supermarts here. I won't go into the comparisons or else I will get into trouble hah...hah....

  22. Nice photos, I think taking photos really make us missed the actual things! I sometimes wondered why we bothered but then we come back and started looking at the photos and then we remembered…good memories:D ya most times I just throw everything in and cook a dish, that's why you seldom see cooked food in my blog lol!

    1. Hi Jeannie! Somehow I am not into taking photos except for food or flowers! But I should so that as you say, we can have memories of the places we visited. Now with the water rationing, my plan to do more cooking and baking is spoiled!

  23. *Hand up* Oh yes, I am afraid that I will run out of blog post to post especially since I have been blogging for 9 years. I cook the same stir-fry most of the times and I couldn't post the same recipe and when I see that my draft posts are getting less, I got nervous. Hahaha... That's why I don't post that often now, so that I can still keep my blog active.
