What Holiday?

Last week I asked my partner "Is next Tuesday a holiday?".

His response : "What holiday?" muahahaha!!

Well, Tuesday (yesterday) was a public holiday. The banks were closed. But my office wasn't.

Before going to the office I fixed myself lunch.

On the way out to eat breakfast, I passed by this Thai restaurant again. This time, there were two blooms.

Pretty in pink!

These are Anthuriums. I used to have these at home but sadly they died.

I don't know what these are. The tiny yellow flowers are so cute.

They even have a pot of Rosemary. These are easy to plant. Just buy a sprig from the supermarket and stick the more matured stems into a pot of earth and water it. It will grow.

At 282Mixed Rice I got me a Salted Kopi and three dishes.

I asked the guy if there is sugar in the coffee. He told me he adds one teaspoon of sugar, so I requested for none.

Oh! This coffee is very good, very much a Kopi C but with salt added. But I felt that this Salted Kopi (RM5.90) needed more salt hah..hah... It was just barely salty. But still I enjoyed it.

For breakfast - stir fried sweet potato leaves, fried chicken drumstick and sweet and sour pork (RM13.00).

This is the first time I am eating their fried chicken drumstick. The batter was thin and crispy and had a faint five spice powder aroma. The chicken was fresh, tender and juicy.

The sweet and sour pork was nice enough while the sweet potato leaves were as good as ever.

After my meal, I went to Big Pharmacy to pick up mum's supplements and then to Restoran 1111 to get her lunch.

Earlier that morning (just after 9:00 am) it suddenly rained very heavily. But only for about 5 minutes. So it was not so sunny which was great for me. Although it was not a hot day, that did not stop me from sweating buckets.

Then I walked past this house and there were three roses blooming.

The soft lighting was perfect for taking photos.

Then I continued my walk back to the office.

Later I ate the lunch that I brought from home.

I added some kimchi that I kept in the office fridge.

I had a very quiet and productive day at the office. As a matter of fact, public holidays are the best days to be at the office working. I know, I know. I am a bit strange. LOL!

Amen!

  1. Dear friend, the quote at the end of your post is really true.
The flowers ๐Ÿ’ are beautiful. The chicken looks delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹
As far as the little yellow ๐Ÿ’› flowers go, they remind me of buttercups.
I don't know what they are, but when I saw the picture of them I initially thought of buttercups.

    1. Buttercups reminds me of someone saying "Suck it up buttercup!" to a person who whines about having to do something tough. LOL!

  2. Hi dear PH, I saw your and one of your friend's comments on your last post that both of you had an incident whereas your cats were beaten up by a black and white bully cat.
My last cat, Romeo, was black and white with green ๐Ÿ’š eyes and was strictly an indoor cat and I had only him and no other cat. I have seen cats of all colours bullying other cats.
Sad, for sure. Usually this happens when a male cat is not neutered and/or if he is defending his territory.

    1. Oh, and I forgot to mention. Romeo was neutered.

    2. Those bully cats were strays (and clearly not neutered) and it so happened that they they were black and white, not that we are singling out tuxedo cats. I too have seen all sorts of stray (or not neutered) males bullying others. They are very aggressive as nature intended them to be. I am sure your Romeo was a sweetheart and you loved him dearly. I miss my little tuxedo, Tutu, which died too young.

  4. Ah, your famous minced beef omelette! ;) Thank pink flower is lovely...it's shaped like a leaf...and I love those yellow flowers also. Is that your first salted coffee? Good, right? Glad you like it...you could always ask for more salt next time (first time you'd be asking for more instead of less...lol!). It boggles the mind how the addition of salt makes the coffee tastes so much better...I guess it's like adding salt flakes to chocolate ice cream! :O

  5. The yellow flowers plant is a Kalanchoe plant. I had one with pink flowers and sadly it didn't survive despite I tried not to water it too much. ๐Ÿ˜ข

    1. Oh, thanks for sharing the name of the plant. I also make that same kind of mistake, thinking my plants need more water >.<

  6. Working on a public holiday is quiet because all customers' offices are mostly on holiday so no customers will call in to kacau ๐Ÿ˜‚

  7. Are you a workaholic hee hee? Thanks for sharing all the lovely blooms during your walk, the flowers looked so pretty and awesome in their each individual colours. I can never eat chap fan with only dishes like you, I need white rice to balance off any gravy or saltiness in the dishes. Perhaps you were avoiding carbs? But the fried chicken drumstick sounded good from your description. Love the quote which is what I always tell myself and my family, count your blessings.
