Mou Yau Mou Thong

I found myself at Yin's Sourdough Cafe again for brunch.

As I was contemplating the menu, the lady at the front was promoting something. She spoke in Cantonese to the customer.

I am quite hopeless. I have lived in PJ for more than 20 years and yet I have not picked up the dialect. But I am not totally hopeless.

I know tapau (takeaway/takeout), sek fan (eat rice), kar fan (add rice, very important hah..hah...) and cho san (good morning).

Then I heard her say "mou yau, mou thong" I knew it meant "no oil, no sugar". Eh, not bad, my vocab is expanding wahahaha! That must be a pastry or whatever that does not contain oil or sugar. Where got such thing? Anyway.

I ordered and paid via the QR code.

Ice Cappuccino. One sip and yes, that is what you call coffee! A good coffee!

This is their version of Big Breakfast.

Salad, sliced guava, quarter tomato, sauteed mushrooms, chicken sausages, chicken luncheon meat, a dollop of whipped butter, toast and scrambled eggs.

I'm sorry. I don't like chicken sausages. Only pork or beef does it for me.

As for luncheon meat, chicken just does not cut it. So this is not the Big Breakfast for me. But I am glad I tried it.

The cake counter was right in front (calling my name). But no. Madam, behave! LOL!

At The Starling, I noted that Bask Bear Coffee has folded up to be replaced by Hatyai Fried Chicken.

Rollti is also gone.

I'm surprised this one is still around.

At the concourse, Home's Harmony was having a sales promotion.

Glass containers. I used to be (and maybe still am) obsessed with clip lock glass containers.

I won't be buying anymore since I have so many already which are still serving me well. I think the promo is still on but you have to go to the shop. It is on the first floor.

Need a cute companion on your bed?

They don't come cheap (even after 50% discount).

These are from The Green Party upstairs.

  2. The little animals are so cute. Of course I especially love the cats! :) But then again, you knew this, didn't you, PH? :)
The quote at the end of your post is right! I like pork sausages! Since I am not very fond of beef because I have had several attacks of gout in the past...and because beef is more difficult for me to eat and digest, I do like the pork sausages. Chicken...never tried it in sausages, but I have in hot dogs (Halal). They are pretty good.
Your dishes and photos are beautiful, dear friend! As always!
Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you have a lovely week ahead!
