Bacteria

I was going out to eat breakfast when I remembered that I had some leftover kimchi in the office fridge.

So I sneaked the bottle into my carry bag heh..heh...

Then I went to 282 Mixed Rice for my first meal of the day. Kai Lan, Thai Style Fish Fillet and Marmite Chicken.

After I settled down at a table, I took out my bottle of bacteria.

Nom...nom...nom...! After I was done, I went over to Restoran 1111 to get mum's lunch.

Why do I not buy from 282 Mixed Rice? Because the food at Restoran 1111 is more to my mum's liking, especially the proteins.

But of late they have been doing sneaky things. Like using chicken backside (bishop's nose) to pass off as pork in sweet and sour pork (you won't realize it until you ate it).

Mum complained to me and I was shocked and sorry that I bought that dish for her. So I am avoiding their sweet and sour "pork".

It was a very hot day (as is everyday) and on my walk back to DU, I took a breather at the foot of the overhead bridge. In the heat, it feels daunting to climb up those steps ugh!

Some irresponsible people throw rubbish on the bridge.

Our local council workers don't seem to be doing their jobs. It is a two sided problem. I pass by almost everyday and the same pile of litter just sits there.

Back at The Starling. Travel promotion. Again!

Everybody seems to have time and money to go places, eh?

Except me. But it's fine. My holiday destination is my garden. LOL!

  1. Dear friend, the video is a delight 😊
I am sure your mom appreciates you getting her lunch. I don't like the sound of a restaurant serving food and not giving the proper information.
    I love your photos, PH.

  2. Good morning 🌞
That is really sneaky, to pass off chicken butt as sweet and sour pork.
The younger generation make traveling a priority over owning a property. Some prefer to rent while some still live with their parents in their childhood home.
    Have a good weekend ☺️

    1. The younger generation want to enjoy first and then work later. Some take leave soon after securing a job to go for a holiday. I remember my mum told me not to take leave after I got my first job. Attitudes have changed.

  4. I wonder how these travel fair can cope when the number of jobless ppl is on the rise & the fuel price sky rocket in the current crisis in middle east. Aren't the impact not felt yet?

    1. I am wondering too. This is a case of the show must go on, they still have to promote their travel packages. This time there were less visitors.

  6. That's terrible, this is the first time I've heard of a chap fan place passing off chicken backside as sweet & sour pork! :O You can't see that it's chicken backside until you taste it? Coz they should look very different. Next time, take a photo of the dish and post it on your blog for us to see. If it's me and they give me chicken backside (which I don't eat at all, even when I ask for chicken thigh for chicken rice, I tell them I want the upper portion, not the lower portion near the backside), I would march up to them and demand an explanation. Your case will be even stronger if they put food tags on their dishes (like the chap fan place in my taman) and explicitly say it's sweet & sour pork.
