My Meatbox

For the first time in my (blogging) life, I received a complimentary product for review.

Back in 2022 (with nothing better to do as we were easing out of the pandemic) I did a write up on buying steaks online and did a side by side comparison of My Meatbox and another supplier.

Recently I received an email from My Meatbox acknowledging my 2022 post with an offer to send me a complementary Prime Beef Box

Never refuse a generous offer, right? I was very thankful and accepted. I requested for delivery on Saturday and stated my preferred delivery time between 10:00 am and 11:00 am.

Come Saturday, I waited for the delivery which arrived around 2:30 pm. I am a stickler for punctuality but since this is complementary, I shall not make a fuss.

There you go, my Prime Beef Box.

Unboxing.

Ooooo.... look at that! This Prime Beef Box (RM288.00 at the time of writing) consists of :

1. Ralph's Prime Ribeye (3 pieces, 150g - 200g per piece)
2. Ralph's Prime Striploin (3 pieces, 180g - 220g per piece)
3. Diamantina Angus Knuckle Minced Beef (500g x 2 packs)
4. Streaky Beef Brisket (500g x 1 pack)

The striploin (also know as sirloin) is packed 3 slices in a pack.

Look at the fat cap. Nice and thick. Some people may balk at so much fat but me, I welcome fatty meat. I eat beef fat and I love it! Fat = flavor.

The ribeye is also packed 3 slices in a pack.

These ribeye have a lovely marbling which I love.

It would be better if the steaks were packed individually so that you can just defrost one slice to cook instead of having to defrost all three.

These two packs of minced beef will come in very handy for me to cook my favorite minced beef with onions which I use to make minced beef omelette and my favorite minced beef cheesebake.

I also look forward to using this pack of streaky beef to make big breakfast and also as an addition on to my minced beef to make it even tastier.

I cooked the steaks on Sunday. I like to dry out my steaks by letting them sit on a wire rack for a few hours in the fridge.

These steaks are thinly sliced, so I have to be careful not to overcook them. The steaks were taken out from the fridge to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes. I also pat dry the steaks before cooking.

These were air fried at 200C for 7 minutes (flipping at half time) and then rested for about 6-7 minutes before slicing.

I managed to get a a nice pink center.

I must say that I was very pleased with the steaks.

The striploin was tender and juicy with very good flavor.

So was the ribeye. This was such a distinct improvement from my experience back in 2022.

I can now confidently order my steaks (and other beef products) from My Meatbox.

There are many products offered like beef shortribs, tenderloin, Wagyu, lamb (lamb shank, lamb racks, lamb leg, cutlets), salmon, mackerel and I believe you will find something that suits your cooking needs. You can even purchase beef blocks and customize the slicing to your preference.

So you ask me - did you eat the ribeye and striploin in one sitting?

Yes, I can eat a lot of meat. I can easily eat a 450g steak in one sitting, so. In fact for dinner I had another two slices of steak (with chonggak kimchi).

That left me with the final 2 slices of steak which meant that I could have those on Monday.

Come Monday morning these were cooked in the air fryer.

Is that beautiful or what? A packed lunchbox that was so good! These I had for breakfast.

I know that sounds horrifying - steak for breakfast (instead of nasi lemak) but it is not that unusual.

I am really glad that I have reconnected with My Meatbox as they are a good source for (more) affordable good quality steaks.

So if you love steaks, head over to My Meatbox to make your purchase with convenient delivery to your home.

Just select your product, choose your preferred delivery date and time slot, pay and look forward to your meat box arriving right at your door!
