Fulfilling A Craving For Ramen

Many weeks ago, my brother and I revisited Ramen Bari Uma on my suggestion because we were super craving for ramen.

Unlike our previous visit, there were many customers that day.

Without further ado, we placed our orders.

We pretty much ordered what we had the last time because it was so good. This was my brother's order and as for me, I decided to spice things up.

heh..heh...the spicy version.

I also put in an order for some extra toppings.

The bamboo shoots was my brother's request while the spring onions, well you guessed it, mine.

Everything tastes better with loads of spring onions. My brother agreed that it helped to cut through the meatiness of the chasu.

No order would be complete without a side of chicken karaage.

I had three pieces and I let my brother enjoy the rest.

We enjoyed the soft center ajitama

That was a good lunch, our ramen craving appeased, we left happy!

  1. I would prefer your brother's but personally, I am not into the thick rich broth in Japanese ramen. The chicken karaage is fine - after all, fried chicken is fried chicken. Oooooo..the egg, the runny yolk - now THAT, I like! Slurpssss!!!!

    1. I happen to love the flavorful broth and my favorite is the one at Isetan 1 Utama. Sadly Isetan at 1 Utama is closing in April next year,

    2. Yes, I read that somewhere the other day. Really, if such a big entity cannot withstand the assault of the coronavirus, I cannot imagine how those small businesses can cope. I guess the one at Lot 10 is still surviving. They just revamped t5he Japanese food section not too long ago, if I remember correctly.

  2. I think I had japanese ramen less than 5 times so far. Lol! Maybe I should give ramen a chance cos I think I would enjoy the char siew and the runny egg, as for the broth, I will go for non spicy.

  4. Ah, both your ramen looks so tasty with the rich broth. U went to the Jaya branch? Since both of u like ramen, u could try the ramen at Ramen Bar ShiShiDo located at the Gasket Alley, PJ. I haven't been there but I heard that their ramen is good and they serve yakitori too.

    1. Perhaps the broth is too strong for you. But I am sure you will enjoy the chicken karaage.

    1. Extra chasu would have been too heavy hah..hah.. The spicy version is quite mild for me.

  8. No spicy version for me. Haha. Rarely order ramen but if I do, it will be the milder flavour.
