I used to think that it was weird, eating a full meal (like lunch) for breakfast. I have since changed my mind.
Before I went to tapau lunch for mum (I get hers from Restoran 1111) I stopped by to eat breakfast.
On my way to 282 Mixed Rice, I saw a kitten. So I detoured (hah..hah...) to check the little kittie.
Honestly the (protein) dishes here are not as appealing as the ones served at the chap fan shop at Restoran 1111 (which is why I get mum's from there).
Spinach, a braised pork dish, sweet and sour tofu (again) and deep fried pork. This cost me RM16.00.
I'm afraid the braised pork dish was not to my liking. It was pork pieces, coated in batter, deep fried and then braised.
The batter became soggy while some of the pork pieces were a bit tough. The flavors were not good.
On every table was this menu. I am keen to try the Salted Kopi. There is even a Vitamin C Kopi. I wonder what that is hah..hah...

Dear PH, what a cute kitty πΊ you found on your walk.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you enjoyed your meal. I have never tried tofu and it doesn't look appealing to me at all.
I don't like sour or sweet and sour.
A friend here in Montreal sometimes orders a smoked salmon omelet when she goes out for breakfast and told me it is scrumptious π
Love your photos.
Linda, how I wish I could take the cutie pie home! Tofu on its own is bland, but when fried with other ingredients added, tofu can be very tasty. I have seen smoked salmon omelette on the menu of an eatery and perhaps I should order that next time.
DeleteI used to think it's weird too when ppl eat chapfan for breakfast, then i learnt tht Klang ppl eat bkt for breakfast, tht's even weirderπ
ReplyDeleteNowadays many chapfan opens early coz some working parents tapao for their kids who attend afternoon school session. It's like nasi lemak stalls tht opens at 7am, but instead of 7, it's 9:30 & they sell fried noodles & porridge too.
Yeah, chap fan is so convenient. In Terengganu, there are people who eat stay or chicken rice for breakfast! That, I cannot do hah...hah...
DeleteAs sometimes I eat omad, I do eat chapfan in the morning when it is ready π
ReplyDeleteCos with omad, there is no need to differentiate between breakfast, lunch or dinner π
I π the kitten got someone feeding her or him π
Ah, yes! I have seen you post your early chap fan meals and I sokong early eating. Ya, I agree, OMAD we can eating anything. I see kittens/cats eating along the sidewalks, so they are being fed and that is good.
DeleteI'm one who cannot eat chap fan for breakfast...chicken rice or bak kut teh, then can (though very seldom)....lol! :D I think hat sour tofu is called Thai-style tofu. P/S: Aww, that kitty is so cute...like a miniature white tiger! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou know, in Terengganu there are people who eat satay for breakfast! There are foods that I cannot stomach in the morning and satay is one of them. LOL! Ah, yes, that tofu dish is Thai style and I love it! I wished I could take that kitty home. Haiz!
DeleteI seem to recall Mun mentioning that this is a long weekend for you, dear PH? I hope you are enjoying your time, dear friend, I just stopped by to let you know I am thinking of you....and to see if you have a new post for Monday, because Blogger's news reader, although seems to be better this evening, may not be the case for every new post.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, dear friend.
Yes, it is Linda! Thank you for your early morning visit. I was in the garden pulling out weeds. LOL! I am enjoying today, like your theme for Monday - Live for Today!
