My Awesome Carb Day @ Luck Farm, Damansara Utama

Yesterday, I felt hungry right after I woke up. Haiz!

But after my morning coffee the hunger went away. At the office, again I was hungry. Adoi! I don't usually feel hungry so early in the day.

Then I went out to get iced black coffee. I find black coffee very effective as an appetite suppressant.

I didn't want to eat in the morning because I wanted to eat something awesome for lunch. And I did.

Ah! I was craving for food at Luck Farm woohoo!!

Look at that magnificent dish. It is the Double Spicy Stir Fried Australian Lamb (another option is beef). I requested for the spiciness to be dialed down a bit.

This dish was really awesome because it had wok hei and the aroma imparted by the green chilies made it even more smoky and appetizing. There were also sliced onions, garlic and those pesky fiery red cili padi.

Of course I had a bowl of rice. I would classify this as a good carb meal as it had a modest amount of rice accompanied by lots of protein and some veggies.

I also added a serving of beef skewers. I found it tasty although it was a tad salty.

I made sure to get iced water just in case I tercekik (choked) on the hot chilies.

I really enjoyed this stir fried lamb and this is definitely a dish that I would eat again. The lamb was tender and juicy, no gamey smell and I couldn't get enough of it (in spite of the big portion).

I picked out the booby traps hah..hah..hah... Even then, I felt the heat (and I knew I would be in trouble the next day).

Wah ......... so satisfied and so so happy! If I had my way, I would get another bowl of rice and dump it into the dish to soak up all the awesome chap. But of course, I did no such thing.

Then I walked to Jaya Grocer to buy milk.

Bah! Low fat! Nope, not buying.

I saw this on Facebook and of course it reminded me of my black and shiny Ah Boi. LOL!

  1. Good morning! Weather so hot that I had to turn on my Aircon with full blast fan to sleep last night. You are right, it was such a good carb meal with rice, lamb and beef. I wouldn't be able to take the spiciness like you. The month of June is coming and many people are going overseas for holidays. I plan to cross the causeway to go to JB in July during a weekday so that it will not be so jammed. Have a wonderful and yummy day ahead!

P/S Ah Boi is getting all shiny and beautiful from the real meat her Ma prepared for her.

    1. Good morning! Yup very hot over here too! It's the school holidays and many people are going on vacation. I hope that you have a nice trip to JB and eat nice food hee..hee...

Yes, Ah Boi's shiny coat is due to the chicken meat and liver that she eats.

  2. Just as I was talking about the hot weather, it is going to rain over my side in SG. Hope that the rain will help to bring the temperature down.

  3. Question of the day: " Do animals ever have suicidal thoughts?" LOL. I thought the answer is No but surprisingly this is what I found. While it has not been proven that non human animals do, or even can, die by suicide, many animals behave in ways that seem suicidal. There are anecdotes of animals refusing to eat in periods of grief or stress. Some social insects have been known to defend their colony by sacrificing themselves.

    1. Hmmm... I never thought of that but I know that lemmings commit group suicide.

    2. Lemmings have become the subject of a widely popular misconception that they are driven to commit mass suicide when they migrate by jumping off cliffs or drowning in bodies of water..it is true that the local population of some lemmings fluctuates. Contrary to the myth, it is not a deliberate mass suicide, in which animals voluntarily choose to die, but rather a result of their migratory behavior. Just sharing when I was trying to understand more about lemmings' behavior.

    3. I'll need to do some reading! I was told about lemmings by my late grandfather when I was a little girl.

  4. Ooooo, the lamb dish is very tempting indeed. I wonder would they cook a version that is totally non spicy to cater for customer's special request?

    1. I suppose they could cook a non or much less spicy version if requested. But the dish would taste different without the green chilies. Perhaps to add less green chilies (just enough for the aroma) and omit the cili padi.

  7. I love green chillies (or capsicum) stir-fried with meat, preferably pork or beef. If you had to dial down the spiciness, it's game over for me...lol! :D

    1. LOL! The spiciness came mainly from the red chili padi. I think you may be able to handle those green chilies because they were moderately spicy.

  8. I curious about the spiciness of those green chilies because I always want to buy to try but worry about the spiciness.

    1. The spiciness I would say is moderate. Not as hot as cili padi for sure which is why I could eat all the green chilies but avoided the cili padi.
