A Disapointing Evening
Scenario. You are a cafe/bistro/restaurant/eatery. It's Saturday and you expect a busy evening. You foresee customers with parties of 4 or more to waltz into your establishment. You set your tables to accommodate said parties.

Stir Fried Roasted Pork With Leeks
I defrosted a strip of siew yoke (roasted pork) which had been sitting in the freezer. I could have put it into the oven to heat up but I find that it tends to get a bit dry.

Ampersand By Culinary Rebels@Uptown Damansara (Closed)
Last Friday I was very pleased when my partner suggested dinner at Ampersand. Yeshhh!! I was pleasantly surprised because he is usually a rice and Chinese dishes sort of guy and I tend to shy away from suggesting meals at "funny funny" places with him, if you get what I mean.

Apple Cinnamon Banana Bread
I served a slice of this Apple Cinnamon Banana Bread to my partner after dinner. "Apple mai cho like that. Boh ho chiak one" (Don't do this with apples. It doesn't taste good). Aiyah. My customer is not happy. But that was before he ate the cake.

Pork Ribs Soup
I have to admit that sometimes I wished I didn't have to cook on Saturday evenings. Lazy bum! I do miss those carefree days when I could park myself on the sofa at 5:30pm and enjoy my TV shows with no interruptions. Lazy bum!

Oatmeal Raisin Banana Bread
It has been a while since I baked, eh? So you could imagine that I was itching to bake something. The previous weekend I put 5 bananas into the freezer because they were quite ripe. So I defrosted 3 bananas and this was how they looked.

Mutton In Black Sauce (Kambing Masak Hitam)
Some things are not meant to be translated. Daging Masak Hitam. Black Cooked Meat. That didn't come out right. Meat Cooked in Black Sauce. That would be most appropriate but it's quite a mouthful. So Daging Masak Hitam it is. Or in this case, Kambing Masak Hitam.
