Today is the last day of 2015 and I have neither cake nor dish to end the year with a spectacular bang. But I have cat! Let me tell you my short lived love story. I fell in love with a little kitty cat.

My First Ever Big Breakfast
As a matter of fact, it was also my first ever Cafe Latte. I've never ordered one before. Am I pathetic or what?

A Taste of Thai@Sen of Thai (CLOSED)
Hi everyone! It's Christmas and I suppose the right thing to do is to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas! Well, I am actually in the office as we speak (right before hitting the publish button that is). I was here since this morning. In fact I was here yesterday too. But please, don't feel sorry for me because I came in by choice. I simply wanted to clear off some work and hopefully this time next year, I will be able to relax or at the very worst, be holding a mop in the house hah..hah.. Looking back, last year's Christmas was a lot more fun.

Chocolate Ice Cream Bread
When I first came across the recipe for Ice Cream Bread, I was amazed. Melted ice cream is mixed with flour and then baked. What? Ice cream can be made into bread? Well, it's not actually bread as we know it, but rather a cake. It is not called ice cream cake to avoid confusion with cakes made with ice cream like the ones you can get from Baskin Robbins.

Marbled Coffee Butter Cake
Sometimes I like to pinch stuff from the office. Don't worry, I don't pinch the stationery or expensive stuff. I pinch the edibles or rather the drinkable. As a matter of fact there is nothing edible in the office. You want to eat or nibble something, you have to supply your own. This was what I pinched.

Taking A Short Breather
It's time for me to take a break folks! It's year end and for most of you it's holidays, holidays and holidays. But for me it's the time that I clear off my work which I do not wish to carry forward to 2016.
I'll be back soon. Meantime, take care and enjoy your weekend and holidays!

I'm A Butt Lover
It was sooo bad and yet it was sooo good. What was that??What are you thinking?? A sexy screen siren pouting while she delivers that line in a breathy husky voice? Whatever it was that she had that was so bad and yet was so good is obviously not what I had. So, PH what did you have? Was it naughty?

Korean BBQ Slow Cooker Ribs
I was at Cold Storage again when I discovered an aisle filled with Korean products. Anything Korean these days bring about a lot of excitement. I'm only into the food and I know nuts about K-pop or Korean melodramas. Something Korean caught my eye.

Curried Pumpkin
When I go to my regular Indian restaurant, I will take a peek at their dishes and hope that they have pumpkin. Most of the time they do. Sometimes the pumpkin is in chunks, sometimes a mixture of chunk and mush and at other times it is all mushy.

Coimbatore Chicken Briyani@Krishna Curry House
After our banana leaf lunch at Krishna Curry House, my brother and I returned as promised, for the briyani. My mum mentioned to us a while back that she wanted to eat briyani the next time she visits. So I told my brother that we should scout around for good briyani. I always find excuses to eat and this is a good one don't you think?

Thai Green Mango Salad
You know, I love mangoes. It's my favorite fruit. Eh, wait. Or is that durians? Or bananas? Hmmm... quite hard to choose. Let's say for now, it is mangoes.

Low Carb@Windmill
Just a day after our lunch date at Krishna Curry House, my brother and I were off to another eating spree. As vowed the day before, I was going to start my low carb eating plan immediately (which of course tanked a week later. Tsk!).

First it was Loaded Brownies. Then it was Loaded Nachos. And now I have progressed to Loaded Cookies. And all these lead to one thing and one thing only - a loaded tummy.

Mango Yogurt Chiffon Cake
It has been awhile since I baked a chiffon cake. I was wondering if I could still remember how to make one and if it would turn out well. So which chiffon cake should I bake? Since mango is the theme for this month's Little Thumbs Up, mango chiffon cake it is!

Two Saturdays ago, my brother and I found ourselves at Krishna Curry house, our favorite haunt for banana leaf rice. It was a much anticipated visit for me, who was still on a carbohydrate eating binge. Tsk!

Fudgy Buttermilk Chocolate Cake
I bought a carton of buttermilk to bake this cake for my mum but in the end I baked something else (this happened back in September). So I had a carton of buttermilk siting idle in the fridge. Buttermilk is not always available at the supermarket. So when I see it, I grab a carton, provided that the expiry date is still a long way off. I know I can make buttermilk at home by mixing lemon juice with milk but I want the fermented stuff, if you get what I mean.

I know that the picture you should be looking at is the avocado dressing. But it was not pretty. Well, after two meat-free posts, are you happy to see bacon? I sure am!

Lohas@Uptown Damansara (CLOSED)
I finally made my way to Lohas to experience some good organic vegetarian food. I have been here a few times before but that was a long time ago. The first thing I ate here was the vegetarian nasi lemak. I was amazed by how good it was. It was remarkable how the sambal and curry tasted almost like the regular thing.

My Meat-Free Salad
After my not so satisfactory outing at The Salad Bar, I simply had to make my own salad. As I mentioned before, I wanted to do penance for overindulging at a buffet. I ate too much meat and therefore, I needed to go meat-free at least for a day.

Of Hits and Misses...
I was at The Salad Bar again. Am I boring you? My original intention was to eat at Lohas, a cafe that serves organic vegetarian food. You see, I wanted to do penance for overindulging at a buffet the day before. What buffet? The buffet served during a conference. Yes, I'm all about the food. Conference and seminars means food and more food.

Loaded Nachos
I wonder if any of you like Nachos. The first time I ate Nachos was at Chilis. But I had my first glimpse of Nachos at another restaurant many years ago where I observed two ladies digging into a pile of something that looked really delicious.

Nutella Banana Bread
I was at the hairdresser's the other day. I don't visit her very often, only when my hair is overgrown and my fringe starts poking my eyes. There is one thing I look forwards to when I visit the hair salon.

Beef and Bacon Loaded Potato Skins
Continuing with my buttermilk saga......
When I made Ranch Dressing, it was because I wanted to finish up my buttermilk. And once I made Ranch Dressing, I had to find ways to finish it hah...hah... It never ends does it?

Sweet and Sour Oink Oink!
For as long as I remember, Sweet and Sour Pork is a dish I always fantasized about throughout my childhood. This dish I never ate at home. It was only to be had on the rare occasion when my dad took us to a Chinese restaurant. As such, it was a dish to be savored whenever the opportunity arose.

I know what's on your mind when you read the post title and then looked at my cheesecake. What strawberry? Where is the strawberry?

Of Pastas and Salads
After my so-so lunch at The Salad Bar last year, I decided to visit again after my partner passed their flyer to me. Apparently he was walking past the cafe when the lady boss and her staff were distributing the leaflets.

Ranch Dressing
I am forever thinking of ways to finish up my buttermilk. Again, I had some leftover buttermilk and I remembered a recipe for Ranch Dressing. If I am not mistaken, the Southwestern Egg Rolls at Chilis is served with Ranch Dressing. I love that dip! You will see me poking my egg roll into that little vial of dip, trying to get at every drop.

Mummy's Fried Meatballs
These meatballs were something to look forwards to during Chinese New Year back in the good old days. The good old days when my mum and my late grandma did the cooking for our family reunion dinner. The good old days when my late grandpa would be busy topping up the stock of soft drinks in the store room. The good old days when my siblings, cousins and I looked forwards to collecting ang pows.

My Favorite Stir Fried Cabbage
The other day I took a day off from work. It's good to take a day off once in a while to rest my mind. Besides, my parents were coming for a visit and I wanted to get a head start on the weekend cooking. So what else, I went ingredient shopping. But I got distracted and detoured because something caught my eye.

A Birthday Lunch
This was lunch one weekend with my parents (visiting from KT), brother and uncle. Yes, the uncle who stopped me and my brother from ordering our usual feeding-frenzy-sized orders the last time we were at Kar Hiong hah..hah... But we are fond of him and we invite him along at every opportunity we get.

Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi
Well, I had to do cook it again. This is the proper Masak Lemak Cili Padi (MLCP), a second attempt after the first one here. It was definitely an improvement because I used fresh ingredients.

Roti Paung Version 2.0
I was quite pleasantly surprised to see my old post Roti Paung (Terengganu Butter Buns - Old School Method) on my sidebar. Some people saw it fit to make that their favorite post for the week (at the time of writing). Well, my foray into bun making started there. I was basically clueless then but had some training from my auntie whom I consider to be my sifu.

Milo Banana A Dream in Chocolate Cake
This cake, inspired by the Peanut Butter Banana Cake I baked previously, came about because (again) I needed to clear off some ingredients that were sitting idle in the fridge. Top priority was to use up an expensive organic dark chocolate spread which I bought just because it was on special offer.

Mad Cooking 4 : The Masak Lemak Cili Padi Wannabe
I shouldn't be posting this horrible mess. But what the heck! This Masak Lemak Cili Padi (MLCP) was doomed right from the get go. Just look at it. The gravy is thin and watery and those messy looking bits are the coarsely pounded spice paste. Gaarkk....

Giant Milo Nuggets and Chocolate Chip Cookies
I wanted some giant cookies to serve with my Milo Ice Cream. This was of course inspired by the sundae I had at Every Sundae. Previously I used to think that baking giant cookies was madness. I mean, who eats a cookie that is as big as their face?

Sugar Overload@Every Sundae
After lunch at Hokano, we adjourned to Every Sundae, a soft gelato bar. I spotted this place some months back when my partner and I were on our way to The Ship. Of course I wanted to pay Every Sundae a visit but I never did until now.

A Japanese Treat at Hokano (Closed)
Last Saturday, my brother and I took my auntie for a Japanese lunch. We did not go too far, choosing to dine at Hokano, my regular place for Japanese fare.
