So what's a slaw? I recently learnt that the word coleslaw came from the Dutch word koolsla which means cabbage salad. Apparently kool = cabbage and sla = abbreviation of salade. Cool, eh?

Noisy Way to Peel Garlic
How do you peel garlic? I usually give it a smash and remove the skin or if I want the cloves whole, I use a knife to do the job.

A Treat For My Auntie@Kar Hiong Subang Jaya
My auntie is in town and last weekend we took her to Kar Hiong for lunch. My last outing at Kar Hiong was in October last year. This place is rather sentimental to my brother and I because this is where we used to have lunch with our uncle who has since passed away. Uncle left us two months after that last outing.

Boa Vista Cheesecake
This almost ended up as a Mystery Cheesecake hah..hah... But there is still a mystery as to when did I bake this? I honestly do not remember but I do remember enjoying sucking out the pulp of the remaining passionfruits because it was awesome.

BBQ Ma Eul Cup Bab@Uptown Damansara
It's quite a tongue twister, this. Ma Eul Cup Bab. And quite hard to remember. But that's just me. I know a lot of you out there are K-pop and K-drama enthusiasts and anything Korean rolls off your tongue very easily. Not me though.

Honey Wholegrain Mustard Dressing
The first time I tried a honey mustard dressing made with wholegrain mustard was at Salad Shack. I liked the dressing very much. I used to see chefs on TV put mustard into salad dressings. At that time, I thought it was weird.

Mystery Chicken
Hands up, my fellow food bloggers, those of you who find a photo in your folder and then cannot remember the recipe. Or that the dish ever existed. No? Then I must be the only one who is senile.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio With Bacon and Mushrooms
This is inspired by the one my partner and I had at Ampersand by Culinary Rebels. The first time we had it plain and yet it was so good. Then the second time, we opted to add bacon and mixed mushrooms. That made it even more awesome.

BBQ Chicken
I have been very well behaved lately. I no longer buy ingredients on impulse. But there is a downside to this so called good practice. Like when I attempted Chef Wan's Texan BBQ Chicken.

Mini Coffee Cheesecake
Do you know what stresses me up when I make cheesecake? It's not the fear of the cake cracking or water seeping into the pan.
