Carb Day #14 : Fried Rice

Fried rice, fried noodles and such are not ideal foods for my carb days.

Obviously it is because there is too much carbs, very stodgy and will spike insulin (and encourage fat storage). But then I do want to enjoy the stodgy stuff every now and then heh...heh...

I was at Piii Eatery and I got me the Golden Egg Fried Pearl Rice with Crispii Chicken Cutlet. I wasn't sure if these people could whip up a good fried rice with wok hei and all. Surprisingly they did and I enjoyed this meal.

There was an option to include sambal and of course I elected for the condiment which turned out to be quite nice. The chicken cutlet was all right.

The Latte was not so successful (for me) because there was way too much milk and I could hardly taste the coffee.

On my walk, I saw this Singapore Teochew Hawker which I might try one day.

Then I spotted this place - A Sweat Wellness

At Miniso, The Starling I saw these soft cushions.

And cute little figurines.

I spotted this gentleman using a walker. I salute matured folks who (bravely) walk in public using walking aids.

I also saw another gentleman walking outside with a walker all by himself.

Bravo!

At the pet store I saw this promotion.

These are pricey stuff for rich people with atas cats.

"High tech" cat litterbox.

No need lah.

Right, Poodie? hee..hee...

  1. I agree with you. I salute elderlies who walk in public using walking aids because I know of many elderlies who absolutely refused to do so when they obviously need to use walking aids.

    1. Some are too proud to even use walking stick while some just prefer to be wheeled around in a wheelchair (even though they are capable of walking with support).

  3. Your food photos give me hunger but no no no I am discipline enough (trying to psycho myself lol !). Yes, I ever came across milk coffee/tea which I could not detect the taste of the coffee/tea. Thanks for bring us a walk around Miniso. Ah, and about Pet Marvel, guess it is a Japanese brand with innovative products, is it? Expensive stuff but interesting to look see look see and marvel at the innovation and technology. So cute lah and Poodie says yes because she knows that Ma/Ah ma truly loves her and her furkids.

    1. It is interesting the number of products available for pets! But I stick to be basics. Simple simple will do. Poodie is adorable and also very "chatty". She is the one that makes the most noise.

  4. Me too. I also salute elderly who walk outdoors in public using walker and walking stick etc because if it is in a crowded place, it can be so inconvenient. Like my neighbourhood though "lau jiat" but crowded.

    1. Being mobile is important for the elderly. If they do not make effort to walk, they will lose the ability to do so very quickly.

  5. Ah, you finally had a carb-loaded dish of fried rice....which you've not had in a long time. I love noodles but don't love rice as much....unless it's fried rice! ;)

  6. I was attracted by the blue figurines that you showed and so tempted to get the blind box but I didn't at the end because I rather spend that money for a meal, hehe. :P
