Carnivoring At the Kopitiam

I try as far as possible to either bring my own lunch to work or just fast to avoid having to eat out.

I will usually eat out at chicken rice stalls. It's cheap(er) and quick and tasty.

The other day I had my meal at 282Mixed Rice where there is a chicken rice stall managed by a foreign couple.

I always get chicken, siew yoke and char siew. Nowadays I will request for no sauce for the char siew. But at that time, I just accepted the sauce.

If I remember correctly, this cost me RM13.00.

Another place I go to is Restoran Wan Shoon.

Here it costs RM20.00 because they serve a bigger portion and I don't mind. I don't come here that often anyway.

The Kopi C is the highlight for me here.

They love to splash the sauce and make a messy plate. Artsy fartsy a bit hah...hah...

This is a kitty that I see when I come this way. It is all black and when I petted its head, it started rapidly "wiping" its head as if saying "Choi! Choi! Get your dirty hands off me!" I thought it was funny.

**Kittie Updates***

This was makan time on Sunday. I have to stand watch because Kittie's Kat's ex-boyfriend the male cat always finds opportunity to come steal my girls' food.

Girl shares a plate with Ah Boi.

TuTu is sharing with Poodie.

Kittie Kat is eating from the small plate. I used to give them an individual plate each but I find that they like to "share". Two of them will scramble to one plate.

And they tend to move from plate to plate. Maybe they think that the other plate's food tastes better hah..hah... So I reverted to two bigger plates and one small plate.

These two were very satisfied after their first meal of the day.

  1. The char siew looks good with a little bit of fat at 282mixed rice. Chili was served. It looks good too. How was it? Wow! What a happy cat family makan time on a Sunday. Good that they will share and not "fight". Ex-boyfriend lol !!!

    1. I think they are good in their own way, so I can't say which is better.

  4. We also get our default meat from roast meat stalls as almost all coffee shops have at least one roast meat stall. Our favourite siew yuk stall is at Canton-Z happy garden. Price varies a bit between the stalls. Ah, the kitty doesn't like your hand on its head. πŸ˜‚

  5. Ah, happy family eating together! Ah, this ex bf is a nuisance. If got a neuter and release volunteer group in your Taman, they should get this ex bf to stop him from having more children. Just don't let him get to his daughters. They don't know is their daughters so when it is the time, they will do it.

    1. I am always on the lookout for that rascal. I think he is terrified of me because when I chase him away, I make scary sounds. LOL!

  6. The black kitty is such a beauty with bushy tail. Ah Boy, Poodie & TuTu are reaching 4 months old & getting sexually mature. Male cats are loitering around to bang them. In no time you are getting great grand children :)

    1. Oh no! I am planning to send them for neutering. I cannot have any great grandchildren or else I go bankrupt. LOL!

  8. If you ask me, the RM13 and RM20 carnivore plate isn't much different...you still get a drumstick, about 7 pcs of siew yuk (the RM20 plate seems to have 8 pcs) and char siew (can't count since it's haphazardly placed)...lol). If there's no much difference in taste, the RM13 plate is a better and cheaper choice.

    1. Oh yes, I agree with you. The RM13.00 platter is a better bet for the pocket.
