Coffee and Eggs

I miss coffee. I mean good cafe style coffee. In other words, expensive coffee. Haiz!

This kind of coffee, you can't do it at home. Unless if you invest in a coffee machine and buy the expensive coffee beans. But seriously. Do you want to go through all the trouble of making just a cup of coffee and then having to clean the coffee machine? Naaaahhhh!!!

So I revisited Halla Holla because the coffee is pretty good and they are not crowded. Besides, I can order the egg side dish as my meal because I no longer want to eat carbs.

This is past 12:00pm and it was very peaceful. I often see more customers (when I pass by on the way to visit mum) during brunch.

I got me a Flat White.

I also helped myself to a mug of water from the water dispenser.

As for my meal, I checked with the server because I wanted to know how many eggs are in the Scrambled Egg(s). They were puzzled (I mean, it's a fair question, right?) and I was told it is "per scoop".

Hmmm... Does that mean that they pre-scramble the eggs in a heap and then scoop to order? I didn't pursue further as it might cause further confusion.

So I took a leap of faith and ordered two portions of Scrambled Egg(s).

Ah! I reckon there are two eggs per portion. And it was more of omelette rather than scrambled.

They were soft and fluffy, maybe a hybrid of scrambled and omelette?

The eggs were seasoned with salt and pepper. I was happy with the eggs and even happier with the coffee.

Then I walked back to Damansara Utama and stopped by The Starling to pick up some stuff.

I saw these red tee shirts.

Heng Ong Huat!!

I only know the word rich! Maybe I should buy and wear these tee shirts and become Ong and Huat and rich. Then can go eat lots of roast duck wahahahaha!!! And drink more nice coffee.

  1. Wow. That scrambled egg looked mushy. I thought it was whipped potatoes.

  2. This Halla Holla is definitely a good place with so reasonable price. Last night I just ordered half boiled eggs at a cafe and it cost RM4.70 for just 2 simple eggs. I felt the pinch after seeing your delicious scrambled eggs. It's worth it. Hola!! 😍😍

Every year I bought those Ang Ang Boh Hai Lang tee shirts from AEON. The prices will drop to less than RM15 a week before CNY. I felt the words of WEALTH and PROSPERITY could bring ONG!!💵💵💵

    1. I am happy that I can just order coffee and eggs. Next time I want to order their onsen eggs. Maybe before CNY I want to go to Aeon to see if I can get nice tee shirts.

  3. 財源滾滾 (Cai Yuan Gun Gun) “May wealth come pouring in.” has the same sounds as:
裁员滚滚 (Cáiyuán gǔngǔn) - 裁员 means retrenchment and 滚滚means go away, get lost
So this phrase doesn't sound that good.

Ah, now I am putting halla holla on my list of eateries to try out.

    1. Oh dear, the self professed coffee addict has to give up coffee! Well, for the sake of your health then you must. I did attempt giving up coffee last year (for 27 or 28 days) but I decided to keep it.

  5. That's a cute mug for complimentary water in a cafe, normally they only serve with Ikea glass. :P
