Blood Moon

Yesterday was the 15th day of Chinese New Year, Chap Goh Meh. My partner warned me. It was a bad day.

The Blood Moon it seems. Be careful when you are out and about. Be aware of your environment to stay out of danger. My lahling had been listening to prophecies on Youtube

First thing in the morning I prepared my lunch.

I had an online training to attend, so I went out early to buy lunch and newspaper for mum.

The day before, I asked mum if she preferred sandwiches or nasi lemak. Sandwiches was her choice.

After dropping her meal, I left the house. Perfect timing or what? The garbage collection truck was right outside. So I took a detour.

I passed by the corner house and admired the red Fragipani.

This house is beautiful with a garden on the balcony.

I passed by my ex-landlady's house. I rented a room here for 10 years.

And then I came upon these beauties.

Oh! So so pretty!

I am so inspired I want to attempt planting more flowers.

There are many houses with Fragipanis.

The white ones are also pretty.

Isn't this lovely?

Blood Moon or not, I was happy I saw so many pretty flowers. And yes, I did stay alert and careful and nothing bad happened.

Back at DU I was sweating buckets. When I saw this kittie, I just had to stop and say hello.

After giving my friend a head rub, I headed back to the office for my training.

I got home later than usual and I was hungry. I needed something quick, not going to do any cooking at that hour.

Ah! Sardines to the rescue.

Still hungry.

A piece of bakkwa. After all it was Chap Goh Meh

Two Mandarin oranges.

And a good dose of bacteria (kefir). And that's it to wrap up the evening. It rained cats and dogs and no Blood Moon was in sight. And no fire crackers either.

I went to bed safe and sound. Amen!

  1. Wow, your mom still has a very good appetite...two packets of sandwiches for lunch? I can only eat one packet in one go. Ah, I see your little indiscretion...in bakwa and mandarins...it's Chap Goh Mei, after all...enjoy, hehehe! ;) What is that white white stuff on your bakwa...fatty pork or the fats have congealed?

I can imagine you have many stories living in that room for ten long years. Could publish a best seller.
