Angmoh Chap Fan

I had been "auditioning" food on GrabFood to see what I could order for mum's lunches.

While searching for restaurants, I came upon Agrain, which I read about a while back on Eat Drink KL. It was listed on the "Healthy" choice on GrabFood.

So I decided to give it a try.

I chose the BYOB (Large). BYOB is Build Your Own Bowl, where you can choose a base, proteins, carbs, veggies, toppings and dressing.

Healthy, eh? You have to choose wisely so that the flavors do not clash. It was not bad this meal, but it is not something mum would enjoy. This is strictly for me.

Another order on another weekend.

I went a bit crazy, choosing items that clashed in flavors. Among the items were Honey Soy Chicken, Paprika Tofu, Harissa Cabbage and Cajun Eggplant.

But it was all right, I can still eat.

This is my usual air fryer beef trimmings and veggies.

This one was with pork belly. I am cutting back on carbs because by and large, I feel better when eating less/not eating carbs.

  1. I am also going back to omad because from 44 I went up to 46 all because I ate more carbs in a row ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†
Agrain reminds me of salad atelier. I like to customise own selections. ๐Ÿ˜‹

    1. LOL! Carbs eaten too much and too frequently can make us put on weight.

  2. I prefer your beef trimmings bowl to your pork belly bowl but both are ok with me because I like the tomatoes and mushrooms in both bowls ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค
Have a good week ahead ๐Ÿ’•☺️

  5. Like your mom, angmoh chap fan is not for me either...hehe! ;)

As for the fish ball noodles, I think the owners could be inexperienced in the food industry (or this is their first rodeo), consistency in food is not easy (everything has to be measured)...and not to be taken lightly. For example, if you keep boiling your soup (to keep it hot) and you don't add more stock to balance out the flavours, it can turn salty. I learned that when I tapau soup noodles home coz after boiling the soup rapidly to make it hot, it becomes "pekat" and more salty (coz the amount of liquid would have reduced). >_< So now I add some water (or more soup) to balance out the saltiness.

    1. hah..hah... mum has been giving me feedback on the food I order for her. Sometimes a hit and sometimes a miss!

Ah, I see, I hope they learn from their mistakes or else they will lose business and fold up!
