Yummy Savory Pancakes

I don't know why that day I craved for Korean pancakes. I had eaten one before via food delivery but I was not happy because the pancake was soggy by the time it got to me.

Hmmm.... I must eat a good pancake! So I decided to pop by Qing He Gu. I remember seeing pancakes on their menu. There are three choices - green onion, kimchi and  seafood.

I decided to try the seafood and wondered how big is the pancake and if just pancake alone would be enough to fill my tummy.

But no worries.

I get banchan too hee..hee..hee...

My pancake arrived a bit later.

It was a big but thin piece of pancake. Looks good.

It was served with a dipping sauce which was ....

.... salty and sourish. It complemented the pancake very well.

I loved the pancake, it was a little crispy and tasted wonderful. But rather pricey at RM30.00.

That was a nice lunch. What about dinner?

Then I thought of the pancake on Sopoong's menu. What? Pancake again?

Why not? This is the green onion pancake. It is much thicker and crispier than the pancake I had at Qing He Gu. Oh my! It was so good! At RM14+, I'll get this one when the next pancake craving hits me.

I don't usually take soft drinks but I was very thirsty. I remembered that Coca Cola is a very effective thirst quencher and it is true.

This pancake is worth ordering. The dipping sauce is good too though the one at Qing He Gu has an edge due to addition of sliced onions and spring onions.

What a happy day hah...hah....

  2. I love to eat korean pancakes because of the doughy dough which I like. I have eaten pancake as the main meal in koh hyang korean eatery in the gardens mall. I may have spell the name of the eatery wrongly. Now that Go Heung doesn't deliver to my area, I must find a korean pancake that I can grab and eat. I am feeling so down now with the high number of cases. Food is the only solace! Help!!!

  4. Wow.. not cheap, eh... I remember my mom used to do these type of pancakes when we were young... Pok Charn, we called it... maybe the Korean flour is different from our all purpose flour, I must ask my kids to buy the flour when they go to the Korean shop the next time.

  5. 50% cheaper but quality better, I'm glad that you found your better place to fix your Korean pancake craving. Actually you can cook it at home too since you have your homemade kimchi. I'l going to cook that one of these days too.

    1. But the cheaper one does not come with banchan. Yup, I must try to make one at home.

  6. It's understandable why the first pancake cost you double the price...coz it came with refillable banchan + it was, after all, a seafood one. From just the looks of it, I think I prefer the first one with less flour. You should order the kimchi pancake next since you like kimchi. I've tried all three, including the kimchi one, believe it or not. ^_~
