Any fans of Hot Cross Buns? Halla Holla is baking Hot Cross Buns for Easter.
I can't remember if I have ever eaten these buns.
So I decided to give it a taste.
These two buns were served warm.
For the first time I ordered the Caffe Matcha. It was sweet and next time I must request for no sugar. It was quite nice, a mix of coffee and matcha.
The buns were lightly spiced and very aromatic. I did not like the cross because it was hard.
The sourdough buns were chewy, the way I like it. I think it would be nice to have some butter to spread on the buns. Good idea, isn't it?
This was my light lunch. As usual, after I enjoyed the Hot Cross Buns, I went for a walk.
I walked past this kiosk again outside A Foodie's Nest, The Starling.
Durian Burnt Cheesecake. I prefer durian in its natural original form.
Lovely illustration and quote. I love hot cross buns. Your photos are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDear Lotus, if you are reading this, I made one last comment on the post where our dear friend PH shared the cat photos, including the Siamese cat. Hope it helps. π
Thank you, Linda! I am thinking of having these buns again. LOL!
DeleteI also added a comment on the last post about crows.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, you are right to say those things about crows and the crows family. They are super intelligent animals such as recognition of human faces so better don't offend them. Though they are intelligent, I still don't like them hah hah! Have a good week ahead!
DeleteAwwww....that's okay, dear friend. :) I hope you have a great week as well!
DeleteLinda : Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
DeleteNowadays, the weather is too hot to eat durians π₯΅
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead π
I think I will pass on the hot cross bun. Thanks for the review π
I agree! And then it rains buckets in the evenings which I don't mind. You have a good week ahead too!
DeleteI had eaten cross buns like these before. I love some butter or vegetable oil on my buns or even wholemeal breads served toasted warm too. Yums! Ahh coffee with matcha, interesting! I still prefer pure coffee or pure tea or pure matcha in their original and authentic taste. But who knows one day when I come across, I maybe curious and adventurous enough to try. Your meal looked delicious and photos looked awesome. Have a good week ahead! Thanks for sharing the quote and illustration!
ReplyDeleteMe too, coffee or tea, separately and not mixed but this one was pleasant. You have a good week ahead too!
DeleteOh I absolutely love hot cross buns, I love the spices added but my mum doesn't like the spices. I just baked some yesterday (without the cross) for breakfast this morning.
ReplyDeleteAh, good to know that you bake your own! It is even more wonderful freshly out of the oven.
