My partner was agreeable when I suggested a second visit. That means that he is positive about the food here.
His pick this time - salted fish pork patty and yuzu sesame dressing salad.
He said that the pork patty was salty. I did not taste the pork patty and I am not likely to order this dish as the patty looked dry. Possibly they used (very) lean pork.
The side salad is pretty standard - greens drizzled with dressing.
My choice was the orange sauce chicken and my choice of side dish was fried minced meat tofu.
Ooh! I loved the orange sauce coated chicken. Very delicious. The salad on the side of my plate is (you guessed it right) their standard salad. This time I was not turned off by the yuzu sesame dressing.
I also enjoyed my side dish. The tofu was fried until crispy, drizzled with oyster sauce and topped with minced pork. I was very tempted to finish my entire bowl of rice but I ate only 1/4 and gave the rest to my partner.
For drinks, this time we got a mug of warm water to share. No more fancy (sweet) drinks for us.
Well, safe to say that Ke Ren Lai is now one of our favorite datenite venues.
I love both what your partner and you ordered. It is good to have warm water to go along with the food, to wash away any saltishness and sugar. Love the quote.
