Just to illustrate my sentiments, I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and I jumped out of bed. It was 6.00 am. Sharp. Arrrghhh!!!!
My usual wake up time is 4.00 am (no alarm clock required). Dang! So I rushed through my morning routine (leaving behind what I could not complete) and was on my way to work.
Then it was time to pick up lunch for mum.
282 Mixed Rice was closed.
Nearby, Jin Xuan Hong Kong, was full house with a queue outside.
Restoran One One One (Bee Fatt) was also closed.
Over at Damansara Jaya, Restoran Hong Hui was also closed.
So was Restoran Choy Kee.
And Restoran Yu Yiee.
The roast duck and chicken rice shop were also closed.
So mum had to make do with sandwiches.
On my way back to DU, I had to cross a boom gate which was closed due to the festive season. I snuck under the barrier and when I stepped onto the kerb, I fell.
I hurt my hand and scrapped my knees (thanks to my jeans, the injury was minimized). Not to worry, I am OK.
Come lunch time, I went to Red Kettle.
I visited before 12.00 pm and the place was already packed.
I tried the Black Sesame Oat Latte. Not something I would usually order. On an earlier visit, the manager was waxing lyrical about this (newly curated) beverage and he looked like he was in love when he described how lovely this drink was hah...hah...
Well, it was actually good. It has that nutty flavor of sesame paste (like what you get when you eat sesame filled tong yuan) and was just barely sweet. Nice. But coffee is better. Of course. LOL!
The dressing is now better - more tart than sweet.
The avocado was discolored but still edible. For the price they are charging, I would like to suggest they serve half (or maybe a quarter) an avocado to keep the avocado fresher, if you get what I mean.
Tang Room was doing brisk business with a queue outside.
Well, that's it for Chinese New Year and we have until the 15th day to celebrate.

ReplyDeleteI suppose so hah..hah... I was told that day #3 was bad but I did not take it that seriously because I am not superstitious though I tried to be careful. Still, it happened! But thankfully I was not seriously hurt. Have a great relaxing weekend!
DeleteCertain things don't know is it coincidence or really we have to believe, they are not superstitions, regarding black as an unlucky colour.

The 2 dim sum eateries in Sri Petaling have long long q during cny.
