Chinese New Year Day #2

Day #2 was not terribly exciting. I had to go to Aeon to (attempt to) exchange an item that was not the right size.

Poodie was at home.

So was Ah Boi.

Since I was at Aeon, I went for a short jalan-jalan.

I was trying to scout for places to go for datenite.

My partner and I went to Chilli's just before Chinese New Year and we found that it's not what it used to be. I'll post that one of these days. So we need some alternatives.

We should revisit Robataya Izakaya

This place, Dave's Bistro and Bar, looked interesting and I did go and browse their menu. They serve oinks! I must check them out.

I was surprised to see Sekinchan Catch at the foodcourt.

A nice bakery that I must visit one of these days.

This hotpot place is still going strong.

Before Chinese New Year, my partner and I visited Uniqlo for a spot of shopping.

This is at K-District but I did not venture further. Those mannequins in glass cases reminded me of some sci-fi horror movie and made me feel eerie.

At the supermarket I was surprised to find Farm Fresh dates.

Then it was back to the house for my homecooked lunch. That was my OMAD of rice, minced beef omelette and chonggak kimchi.

It's back to work on Chinese New Year Day #3. Bah! LOL!

    1. Poodie is very "talkative". She is the only one who makes very cute noises whenever she sees me :)

  3. Your partner's Santa Fei salad changed? Wakakakaka! Dave's Bistro & Bar...isn't this the same as Dave's Deli...and by that, I mean the same owner?....but this one serves oink2. Sekinchan is well known for a good source of seafood...will you be trying since you're not a seafood person...hehe! ;)

    1. LOL! He had another salad that evening and complained that the flour coating on the chicken is more than the chicken itself. On my part, I had a steak (which was good) but the mashed potatoes were not at their usual standard. I also thought that Dave's Bistro might be related to Dave's Deli but their menu is a lot more interesting. Well, Sekinchan Catch is not for me hah...hah...

I have a question. What is komatsuma?

    1. Ah Boi does not photograph well unless in good lighting. Most times she looks like a lump of coal LOL! I googled and Komatsuma is a Japanese mustard spinach. I might have eten it before.

  5. Dear PH, I forgot to mention...you know the YouTube channel of the Japanese lady with the 3 cats...her name id Mii.
Well, she purchased a loaf of bread that is in the shape of a cat's head. Not sure if you are still watching her videos, but I wanted to see if you knew about this bread. I think it's creative

    1. Oh, I have not been following Mie's videos consistently. That bread you mentioned sounds interesting! I don't see anything like this over at our bakeries here. The Japanese are such creative people!

  6. Good morning PH! CNY Day #3 for me was bah too! ouch! Lol! Poodie and Ah boi taking a nice sleep over a cooling day over at Malaysia? It's true that at times we cannot see Ah Boi lol! Can add as camouflage against the dark. The quote is true. For me, I rank (1) Health (2) safety (3) wealth (4) Family and friends, aka relationship

    1. Good morning! I think it rained that morning, that's why the two girls were at home. Indeed our health ranks as number one.
