Planting Flowers

I did mention that I attempted planting flowers (from seeds) in my garden.

These were the seeds I bought (I was very ambitous).

Cosmos.

Marigold.

Zinnia.

These are Zinnia seedlings. Only four germinated. Bah!

These were two Zinnia plants from an earlier attempt. Yes, only two. Tsk! LOL!

Can you see the flower bud?

Hopefully the flower bud blooms. Because there is a risk that it may die and drop off. Once it flowers, it will produce seeds and I will get the opportunity to plant more.

Oh! It was progressing very nicely.

The petals are coming up.

This is very encouraging.

I was very happy.

I love the color.

The flower lasted for about a week.

Then another Zinnia bloomed.

This one was yellow.

I like this color.

But the size is small.

I hope to plant some more.

I hope to do more gardening if I can take time off work.

  2. Quotes 1. Don't compare yourself with others. The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet, they both make the forest beautiful. 2. Learn character from trees, values from roots and change from leaves. 3. Believe in yourself and you're halfway there. Just like flowers believe in themselves and stand tall to fight all the odds of their lives.

  3. The red zinnia is very outstanding and striking while the yellow one is cheerful and pleasant looking. You are looking to more time to do gardening, I am looking for time off to do journaling hee hee.

  4. Love your quote too. I am splitting my comments into 4 (including this 5) as I am using my mobile phone to comment, just want to make sure they are published before I accidentally click on any button and the comments gone missing hee hee

  6. I like zinnia too. If the plant is still short but starts to have flower, I will remove the bud. So it will grow taller, more branches and more flowers. I wonder if your cats will kepoh-kepoh and disturb your baby plants.

    1. Thanks for the tip, Faiq! I read something like that and tried it with herbs - pinch off the flowers. But with this Zinnia I very sayang to remove the first bud. Perhaps with the next ones I will do this method.

    1. Thank you! It is very challenging to grow plants from seeds. Easier to just buy from the nursery and take it from there hee..hee...
