I was relegated to a very obscure corner of the restaurant designated for table for one (or two). I felt a little bit claustrophobic hah...hah...
Dave's Deli's roasted chicken is good and the gravy is delicious. I also loved the mashed potatoes which were chunky.
The roasted veggies were pretty much boiled or steamed. Meanwhile the cranberry sauce was quite awful, it had the texture of jam and did not taste nice. I don't know what proper Yorkshire Pudding should taste like, this one was tough and chewy.
Oh, there was sage & chestnut stuffing under the chicken and the stuffing was actually quite nice. So this Festive Roast was a hit and miss in terms of tastes and textures.
Let me share some of my Auntie's beautiful blooms.

Dear friend, I love the quote. The flowers are gorgeous! This festive roast....wow, that plate of food looks scrumptious!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you love the flowers!
DeleteGood morning ๐ ๐ Rise and shine and give god the glory glory, but no sun today, just an update of the weather in SG today, from last night till this morning, we had the ้ฟๅฝ้จ。so sleep was shiok for me. like you, I had a wonderful weekend Sunday which was ytd, it was peaceful and productive. Have a good week ahead!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon! Amen!
DeleteHey there, I love the blooms! Able to update the climate and weather in New Zealand, like this year end, my bucket list for travelling will be New Zealand or Australia but unsure of the climate there. Dear, I like how you put regarding the crisis and issue with regards to your late dad ๐ just like how the quote says. Love the food too though there are some hits and misses. Thanks for sharing all the photos and the quote. Ciao! Will hop over to Linda's blog.
ReplyDeleteOne day I hope to visit my auntie in NZ.
DeleteFor me, Dave Deli's has seen better days...they're not what they used to be. As for the Yorkshire Pudding, it should taste light and fluffy (that's why it's a failed one if t doesn't rise...lol). P/S: Ya, I agree with you (not wanting to sound ungrateful) but we'll be glad that it's over especially seeing their suffering and being bedridden. When death is inevitable, we'd wish for it to be quick.
ReplyDeleteHi Friend Kris, I think there is a blog named, contact.wwww LOL!! Just joking, it means Wear What, Wear Where....Hah hah hah
DeleteKris : Yes, they have seen better days though I find their roast chicken (still) quite nice. You are right, it may sound negative but we want loved ones to cross over quickly to end their suffering and to give the living relief so that they cab get on with life.
DeleteDear friend PH, agree with what you said to Kris, not that we are heartless, if people can understand.
DeleteHi Libby, eh...missed "seeing" you in my blog. Anyway, is there such a blog Wear What, Wear Where...or you're just pulling my leg...hah..hah. I've only come across blogs called What To Wear and Who Wear What...lol!
Deletehah..hah...hah....
DeleteGood morning ๐
ReplyDeleteThe dish looks nice so thanks for reviewing it and letting us know it was a hit and miss in some areas.

Good afternoon! Mu auntie is a very keen gardener and a good cook too!
DeleteAt least the Yorkshire Pudding wasn't greasy, I had a really unpleasantly oily one. >_<
