Sunday found me at the office for something not work related.
I woke up later than usual but was feeling a bit groggy. First order of the morning - feed my kids. LOL! After that coffee for my partner. Then it was a quick bath and then to the office I went.
I made coffee for my partner at home but skipped my own. So at the office I needed my coffee fix. But no, not coffee from you-know-where.
Chase Coffee was closed (open later). So I made my way to my next alternative.
Baristar Coffee & Tea Express.
Iced Black is RM6.00 (small) and RM7.00 (regular).
Then as I walked I decided why not snap some photos.
I did not realize the sky was so blue. Across the road is Lighthouse Street Food. It is basically a kopitiam associated with Lighthouse Hotel & Shortstay.
I passed by Village Park.
As usual they were doing brisk business.
One day when I am having an epic carb day, I must revisit Curry Leaf.
I would love to eat Nasi Briyani with Mutton Varvual.
These dishes are (delicious) carbs, carbs and more carbs.
Ah! Banana Leaf Rice! It has been a while and yes, my next to-eat. LOL!
Next to Curry Leaf is Nyonya Colors.
My partner went once and he complained that it was pricey.
Maybe one day I'll visit.
Well, when I got back to the office, I had my coffee and it was so good but I still felt blah and tired. Later it was off to Aeon for the usual weekly grocery run.
Back home, my partner spotted Leng Chai chilling out at a strategic spot.
Look at him. So relaxed perched up there.
My lunch. Fried fish with a drizzle of soy sauce.
And this was my early dinner. It was a good relaxing Sunday.
Good morning ๐ ๐ just want to share a joke of the day. This morning I was having my breakfast set of one black coffee, two soft boiled eggs and toasts at S$2 at my neighbourhood kopitiam when I overheard (eavesdropping) two elderly uncles with one say "...it is either we wake up naturally without the need of alarm clock or we don't wake up peacefully and naturally!" Hah, such a sense of humour, I guess everyone also wishes like that.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon! hee..hee.. those two uncles are so cute. Sometimes when eavesdropping, we are entertained.
DeleteAmen to the quote. Your this Sunday fish lunch and pork belly dinner looked good. I love them and the photos were great. Would your kids kacau you when you are having the ๐ fishes?
ReplyDeleteWell, my kids were outside. Had they been inside, they will definitely want my fish! LOL!
DeleteI agree with our dear friend Lotus! Amen to the quote!
ReplyDeleteAmen indeed!
DeleteDear friend, your first photo is amazing! Beautiful blue sky and lovely views! The Christmas stocking is cute, and your photos right after with the views and blue skies are lovely! That sleeping cat up there is Leng Chai? The nasty cat? He looks so cute and peaceful when he is sleeping! LOL! :) Seriously, I would not trust this cat, he does not look friendly at all (not when he is awake, anyway) LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour fried fish looks delicious, PH!
Oh yes, the naughty cat that steals my girls' food! He can look cute when he wants to, very deceiving LOL! I enjoyed the fish and I must eat fish more often.
DeleteGood morning ๐
ReplyDeleteThank you for the updates. Didn't know that nyonya color has a whole shop now. I used to eat at their one u kiosk.
Love your fish dish. May I know what fish is it? U bought it fresh from Aeon supermarket? Or is it frozen fillets?
Have a good week ahead! ☺️
Good afternoon! I used to pass by Nyonya Colors at 1-U but I somehow was never motivated to try their food. That fish is halibut which I ordered (last year!) when Feast Market was having a discount. It was frozen and I was surprised they were still in good condition and tasted very good. You have a good week ahead too!
DeleteOh you have a Nyonya Colors near you! Their plated food is just so-so but what I like are their nyonya kuih (if you so happen to be in need of sugar...lol). When I had no disregard for sugar, that's what I always go for when I'm there...they had prepacked nasi lemak & meehoon then with some kuih for breakfast (you can check my blogpost for some of my favourite kuih there). ^_~
ReplyDeleteBtw, what fish is that you cooked in the air fryer? I love fish but so lazy to fry fish the conventional way these days (oily mess), so the type of fresh fish I buy from the market is not suitable to be fried in the air fryer. That needs some flaky, soft fish with no bones type which is fast to cook...like the one I see here! ;)
DeleteOh dear, now I must try the Nonya Colors kueh tsk...tsk..tsk... LOL!
DeleteThe fish is halibut which I bought from Feast Market last year when they were having clearance sale. They were still in good condition and tasted pretty good (in spite of being frozen for so long). I did not air fry the fish because I was afraid it might not turn out well, so I pan fried.
