I made to two last repeat visits to Sheung Wan Noodle House in December 2024 and early January 2025.
This was the beef offal, something that I enjoy.
I was disappointed that the contents of this pot was braised until it was too soft
I suspect that this item is not popular. So they reheat over and over again.
Everything was soft and limp though the taste was still all right.
Again, over braised. After this meal, I decided not to come back.
Very soft is for me, people with weak teeth.

Maybe one of these days I would revisit. Hopefully I get lucky and the offal was freshly cooked. Have a good week ahead!

ReplyDeleteI re-read the book and finished in in 3 days. I could not remember most of it because it had been years since I last read it. So it was like reading a new book.
DeleteThat's good. At least it is like reading a new book. I had just finished reading the second half of the second book you gifted me. The second half, some parts are so cute and funny which I can relate and find quite heartwarming actually. The author is very close to his parents.

DeleteAh, it was so nice of you to gift Lotus two of the When I was a Kid books. I love this series and I can see Lotus enjoys it very much too. It makes for light and fun reading.

DeleteActually I like my braised items to be braised until soft as long as they're still fresh but of course not until it's a mushy texture. Some places I find their braised items have not been braised long enough.
