Twice a week sounds reasonable but because I have a carb addiction, there are times when I breach this limit. What's important is my choice of carb meals.
Meals that are carb-centric like fried rice, noodles or pastries, I avoid. These contain way too much carbs.
I will say that a sourdough sandwich with beef and cheese (and avocado) is a good carb meal - proteins, fats and carbs.
I do love me a good sandwich! So when I am on a carb day, I never hesitate to pop by Halla Holla for my carb indulgence.
But before that, I dropped by Say Yes Cafe to pack a Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam for my mum. I try to get her something different from time to time. Usually it is chap fan from Restoran Bee Fatt 1111.
The boss was there doing his rounds chatting with customers. PR is so important in the service industry.
Even serving customers at the counter. This is possibly one of the factors why Halla Holla is successful (with outlets at Damansara Kim and a recent opening at Mid-Valley).
As a boss, you have to be involved to a degree and not leave everything on autopilot.
Because I love avocado and there is an option to add either half or one whole avocado, I added half a fruit. So so good! Can't wait for next time hee...hee...

DeleteHappy mid day to you. Glad that you enjoyed the beef sandwich. TGIF and enjoy your weekends! I have no plans for the coming weekends as I will be resting at home and staying indoors. The weather outside is really terrible so if I am going out, usually I will take long cuts with shelter and I will choose to stay inside shopping mall with air con.

DeleteThat is a very generous spread of avocado! I seldom see such a wide spread, normally only two or three small slices in a sandwich or salad..

DeleteI wonder how you normally eat your sandwich? Lift up the the whole sandwich and eat? Or use fork and knife to cut into smaller pieces? I myself will deconstruct it and eat the bread and filling separately. :P
ReplyDeleteI usually lift and eat as you described. For thick sandwiches, I use fork and knife since it is messy to eat the usual way. But now I take it apart and eat section by section. Something like what you do hah...hah...
