Last Sunday Meals

Last Sunday I was in a good mood because Monday was a public holiday hee..hee..

I love public holidays (don't we all?) especially when they fall on Monday, Friday or Sunday (then will replace on Monday).

As usual, Sunday is grocery day where I was very pleased to spot Bright Cow's UHT milk on the shelves.

Full cream milk. But upon checking the ingredients, I was discouraged.

Milk solids and stabilizer (INS460, INS466). Nope, I am not going to ingest chemicals.

Ah, they carry this brand too. I usually get this at Jaya Grocer.

The ingredients is simply full cream milk. Which is why I buy this and other imported brands. If I can find a local brand like this, I will surely support.

Then I came upon some very expensive stuff - Phillips Pasteurized Crab products. I wonder who would buy these.

The meat section (beef) was quite pathetic. Now that they carry Wagyu and imported organic beef, the turnover is (as expected) slow. The color of the meat was already off, a real turn off.

After the grocery trip, it was back home for the usual weekend chores. I was not feeling well, sneezing with runny nose and to top that off, I had (mild) backache.

After my disappointing (and expensive) pork chop meal at The Neighbour Hoot, I decided to cook myself a (better) pork chop.

Ah, a nice thick one which I bought a day earlier from Hank's (Jaya Grocer). I simply applied some salt and spices to the meat before placing it in the air fryer.

It turned out very nice at 180C for 20 minutes (there were garlic cloves underneath the meat).

So that was lunch.

Pork chop served with roasted garlic, kimchi, sauerkraut and pickled gherkins.

So satisfying!

I had some cooked minced beef in the fridge that I needed to finish. So I grated some cheese, sliced a few Jalapenos and made this minced beef cheesebake.

Wah ..... so good eaten warm while watching Making A Murderer. What a good Sunday!
