Never mind that I already marinated chicken chops, I thought I could add one salmon fillet for dinner.
The star on the plate for me was still chicken. Not that the salmon was not good, but I am not a fish or seafood person.
For weekend dinners, I had minced beef and eggs. I dare not say omelette because heh... heh... it looked a mess.
This is my auntie's pulut lepa which she made in New Zealand. She brought Kuala Terengganu to New Zealand. That was one of my favorites when I was a little girl.
Good morning π
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays! You are doing gardening and not going to the office to work, right?
I am now in Say yes cafe, enjoying their scrumptious nasi lemak ayam berempah.
Your aunt's pulut lepa must be very very tasty π
Good morning! Ah yes, gardening yesterday and some other chores. Glad you enjoyed Say Yes Cafe's nasi lemak!
DeleteYes to say No! Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteYour minced beef, eggs and kimchi is the champion π I think it looks better than some dishes that I have eaten in eateries. For me, even without the Sriracha sauce, I would love the taste of this dish, the kimchi with beef egg would be so heavenly tasty. Yummy ππ€€ππ€€ I am now at Singapore teochew hawker eatery having a very delicious teochew or nee. Thank you for this eatery because when I was walking down the steps of your eerie secret garden route 2 I looked across the road and saw this eatery. What a good find π π Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have yet to visit that eatery. There was something in their poster on the wall that I want to eat - the chui koay. I am not a fan of orr nee even though I love yam. Well, thanks to your sharp eye for spotting the eatery!
DeleteThe chicken and salmon looks absolutely scrumptious! I don't know what kimchi is. Your minced beef and egg dish does look pretty tasty. And when you mentioned about your minced beef dish not looking good, I have to say that I am horrible at presentations! I love to cook, I don't follow any fancy recipes, just make things I love. My food doesn't look pretty or fancy on the plate, but my friends who have tried my cooking says it is very good. This makes me happy. :)
ReplyDeleteKimchi is Korean fermented cabbage - their version of sauerkraut LOL! What's more important about food is how good it tastes even though it may not look presentable. In fact some of the messiest looking homecooked food is the tastiest LOL!
DeleteIf I was eating the minced beef + eggs as a one-dish with rice, I'd probably scramble it like you (instead of making it a proper omelette) so that I can mix it thoroughly into with rice. ^_~
ReplyDeleteHmm... that's a good idea! When I do carb day at home, I shall mix the minced beef omelette with rice. That would be very very delicious!
DeleteYour auntie's homemade Pulut Lepa looks legit!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is legit. She is very good at making these things.
