This restaurant opened very recently and is situated where Cow Brother used to be. When I saw the signboard "Restoran Bintang Kemuning, Famous Prawn and Beef Noodles", I was under the impression that they served ngau lam mein and har mein.
Apparently not (to my disappointment). Their specialty is fried beef noodles and fresh water prawn noodles.
After looking through the menu, I selected the Spring Onion Ginger Beef Koay Teow (Dry) and being the coffee addict that I am, I chose Kopi O (iced, no sugar) as my drink.
The Spring Onion Ginger Beef Koay Teow had a lot of wok hei going for it but fell short in terms of the ingredients. Where is the ginger? Where is the spring onions? Where is the beef? Got beef lah but there was so little of it. This was more like an ordinary plate of fried koay teow.
I guess one visit for me is enough.
Elsewhere in Damansara Uptown, Restoran Yu Tao Xuan has closed down.
On the home front, my Belle Belle has settled in quite nicely albeit still adjusting to coming back home (mommy is adjusting too).
She has come to the realization that living with mommy means having to pose (reluctantly) for photos.
Hear that Girl?
Belle being a street cat, she definitely have a lot of story behind her and by looking into her eye, just that we don't understand her and she can't tell.....ha!ha!ha!
ReplyDeleteShe definitely has a story to tell, lots of history on what her life was like before. She has such a sad look and I took pity on her and want to give her a happy life.
Deletewhy belle looks so sorrow & moody....But I would say she is more gentle compared to ah Girl....LOL!
ReplyDeleteShe is quite mellow (except at the vet's LOL!) and does not complain much. She probably feel bored inside the house. But she has to stay in until her ears recover.
DeleteNow you've got me craving for fried kway teow with beef - had it once or twice here and there here but I don't think there's anybody selling it now. I think I'll go out and buy and cook my own tomorrow. I'll be more generous with the ingredients, of course. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure your own cooked fried beef koay teow will be very good, with loads of ingredients!
DeleteYea, sometimes it is very disappointing when our meal does not come out as expected, anyway, if we don't try, we won't know. My breakfast this morning was unsatisfactory too, no more second visit to the same stall, that is for sure. Your Belle definitely looks more matured than Ah Girl... LOL...
ReplyDeleteBelle is older and more mellow. But she becomes very fierce with the vet. LOL!
DeleteI think she doesn't like this vet. Sometimes they do have a preference and prefer female vets.
DeleteHaha. Look at Ah Girl. So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteOoo. Look like the food wasnt impressive. Actually too many such eateries. Food so so only. Nothing attractive.
Ah Girl knows how to charm me so that I don't scold her. LOL!
DeleteHohohohohohoho, I love the photo of Ah Girl, do cheeky la. She is like, what, what, what, challenging u with her cuteness! Super cheeky!😼😼😼😼
ReplyDeleteShe knows that when she does that pose, I will be very amused. LOL!
DeleteOh, I don't need to note down this new shop cos not nice. Beef kway teow with little to no beef is a big time fail.
ReplyDeleteI hope that they can survive. So far that shoplot has seen a few tenants come and go.
DeleteAiyo, Belle Belle, y u go terrorise the doctor, haizzzz. Later doctor doesn't want to treat you. Must thank you again for taking good care of Belle Belle. Look at her, queen of her cardboard box. 😻😻😻
ReplyDeleteSo far so good, Belle is quite obedient even when I apply medicine to her ears.
DeleteFirst, the food. The restaurant's name "kemuning" sounds like it originated from Kota Kemnuning, Shah Alam. But I won't be as disappointed as you to find out they specialise in stir-fry beef noodles and sang har mein (if it's good) coz I love these (just like how I love stir-fry ying yong or wat tan hor). Though I've never known a sang har mein that's so cheap (RM26 for two pax) coz those I know will cost easily RM50 - RM70 for two pax (must be a very small sang har lah...kekeke!). I've also not had spring onion ginger beef kway teow dry as I would always want it in the egg gravy style.
ReplyDeleteNow, the cats. Glad to see Belle is finally home...and settling in. I see you've taken up my suggestion of giving her a box (tilted side ways) inside the house some more (even better). I can see that she's very comfortable (and feeling secured) in her box by the way she's sitting, relaxing and sleeping in her box. After some time, she can even get comfortable in her cage (I've even seen some cats being given a box in their cage at pet shops for them to crawl into to feel safe). Hopefully, eventually, Belle will get used to the indoors and realise this is her forever home and that she's so well loved by her cat mommmy that, even if you let her out, she'll come running home at the sound of you calling her name (like Cookie does). P/S: Older cats are always much more well behaved than younger cats but younger cats pull off cute stunts (like Girl) to make themselves utterly adorable! :D
I did read on the internet that there is one in Kota Kemuning as you mentioned. The sang har mein I dare not order since the price is seasonal and could be a bomb hah..hah... Come to think of it, maybe the ginger and spring onions are only for the wet version hmmm...
DeleteSo far, Belle is all right in the house. She sticks to her corner where the box and her cage is. Not like before, she does not jump all over the sofa. She does make a run upstairs (I make sure that all the room doors are closed when she is out of the cage) but comes down to settle at the favorite spot. I hope that her ears heal and by then, I can let her go outside to play. Ah, age explains why Belle is so mellow. If only she would behave at the vet's haiz....
I too thought it was about ngau lam mein. I miss ngau lam mein. Belle is well behaved and she posed nicely for you. Hahaha...Ah Girl has a great pose for you too!
ReplyDeleteI also miss ngau lam mein. That's why I was disappointed. My two cats have gotten used to me pointing my phone at them. LOL!
DeleteAh Girl is more jovial while Belle is more reserved and sad.
ReplyDeleteYour observation is correct. Belle has always been the serious one.
DeleteI want to laugh at Ah Girl's photo!
ReplyDeleteShe can be very cheeky sometimes and give me that cute pose. LOL!
