Update : Patissez@Damansara Uptown has closed down.
Ignore that photo. That's obviously not low carb food. But is it possible to low carb at Patissez@Damansara Uptown? A place where the Freakshakes will shake your resolve? Well, let me show you.

After the demise of Ampersand, I think I may have found my new favorite restaurant. So I go there every now and then on my cheat days.
What I am going to show you today are my two non-cheat day meals. And yes, it is possible to go low carb at Patissez, though not recommended (for me) as you can see why below.
First up, the Crispy Skin Seabass.
This set me back RM29.68. |
Two small pieces of seabass served with vegetables and orange wedges. I was not really into the orange wedges and orangey flavor.
It's a modest serving, so it's perfect if you are into portion control or a small eater.
On another day, I had the Grilled Aussie Steak.
I'm afraid at RM41.34 this is not money well spent. |
As you can see, it is a very small serving and so very bare save for the tiny roasted garlic and chimichurri. It should be renamed "The Minimalist Steak".
The meat was well seasoned but it was on the dry and tough side. Maybe that's just my luck.
What I liked was the roasted garlic. The chimichurri? No comments.
My drink of choice on both occasions, the Americano because it's black coffee without sugar.
Those two low-carb options are not my favorites. Let me you what you should eat when you come here.
RM33.92 worth every Ringgit. |
The Freak Burger. It so happened that it was cheat day when my brother and I revisited together. We both ordered the same thing so that we won't envy each other's plate. Hah!
Double beef patties with chicken bacon (which surprisingly tasted rather good) and all the fixings and a generous serving of fries. And I love that mayo dip.
That's not mine. Really. I had the Milo instead.
Messy looking but delicious, though too sweet for me.
Another thing you must check out is the Spicy Chicken Burger which I had on an earlier visit.
So. Conclusion. I won't low carb here again. I will only visit on cheat days ๐

RM24.38. I can't wait for my next cheat day to have this. |

RM15.90 |

Can't remember the price. |

Hahahaha you sounded like RG in this post. Really I didn't eat this I ate that. Maybe I should also copy you both as in "Really it wasn't me who wrote those comments, it was an evil cheeky imp who use my ACC." LOL! Seriously those two low carb meals you had are way too costly for me though they do suit me as a small eater. I believe you although you sounded like RG. You drank the Milo because you had the pretzel shake before. Will take your advice and order the burger to share since the portion is too much for me alone when I eat here next time. Have a good long Christmas holiday weekend! I hope you won't go back to your office to work this weekend. You deserve a good rest at home and please don't go and fry any ngaku chips. :)
ReplyDeleteThose were too costly for me too and frankly not worth it. The burgers though were a different story (but not low carb hah..hah...)
DeleteDon't worry, I won't be working this weekend. And good heavens, no, no more ngaku chips! Merry Christmas to you, Mun!
For me, difficult on low carb, that y i have to work hard to burn off...
ReplyDeleteYes, zumba burns fats...
DeleteHo, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Awesome foodie blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
DeleteMengancam sungguh hidangan tu PH..
ReplyDeleteTengok harga pun mengancam dan menyeramkan PH hahahha..
Yati, boleh pengsan >.< Tapi jangan salah faham, PH ni bukan orang kaya. Sekali sekala jer makan mewah gitu hah..hah..
DeleteOh my!!! Not cheap at all, this place. Over RM30 for a burger! *faints* Can't say their presentation is all that great either. At those prices, I certainly would expect a lot nicer.
ReplyDeleteNope, not cheap that's for sure. The burger, I don't mind the price because it was good and the portion was big. As for the rest, I would give it a miss.
DeleteI love that sinfully sedap burger costing RM33.92!! I would pay for that yummilicious burger and sink my teeth inside with cheese oozing down my chin. Oh My Gawd!!! You are driving me nuts as I have not eaten my lunch yet at 3.30pm.
ReplyDeleteStill clearing your back logs in the office ke? Hope you have eaten something by now :)
DeleteHey, I went to try that place after a big Christmas Eve dinner and the Mint drink was heavenly nice but messy looking.
DeleteNice, ah? I must try it although I am not really into mint and chocolate. Maybe it will change my mind :)
DeleteWah, see liao also lao hao shui la!!
ReplyDeleteThe burgers look so yummy!
Wishing you and family a merry Christmas!
DeleteThe burgers are worth it, so good! Merry Christmas to you and your family too.
DeleteI actually enjoy fish with a citrusy sauce but maybe this one you had probably had too much orangey sauce in relation to the size of the seabass...hehe! >.< Hmmm, as for the minimalist steak, I can understand why it was dry and tough for you coz it's almost well done. But the freak burger...did you say double beef patty + chicken bacon...mmm, well worth the price (more so if it makes you happy on a cheat day)! ;) What milo is that at RM15.90?...kekeke! A really special one, I hope...wahahahaha! :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the holidays...and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and loved ones, PH :)
Yes, that Freak Burger was the right size for me hee..hee... The Milo, well....I suppose they justified the price with melted chocolate pasted all over the inside of the glass. It was good but too sweet.
DeleteEnjoy your holidays too, Kris. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones too!
How not to indulge when you are in such place. Everything looked so good.
ReplyDeleteThe seabass. Interesting. The steak. So thick. I couldnt decide what to eat.
And it's so near to me...hah..hah..
DeleteThe burger does look enormous to me but so drooling good! And the dessert, the one that cost RM24.. oh my, never seen anything like that in my whole life! Cheating or not cheating day, I Wan La! Now my cholesterol higher than before, I really miss my good young days where I could wallop whatever... sigh...
ReplyDeleteNeed to jaga what we eat but in moderation lah and also must exercise. Next time you come down to KL you can try the Pretzella Freakshake. I can share with you :)
Deleteif i recall right, you've made your own chimichurri before - and once you've had very good homemade chimichurri, that's the ultimate ideal! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Sean! Homemade is the real deal and so tasty (blowing my own trumpet) :D
DeleteYour milo doesn't look any less guilty than the milkshake, look at the Nutella (I assume) at in the glass >_<
ReplyDeleteNow that you mentioned, that must be Nutella!
DeleteHave you been to the original one in Bangsar? If yes, how do the two compare?
ReplyDeleteI have not been to the one in Bangsar. But if I pass by Bangsar, I would like to try that one and see how it compares.
DeletePlenty of sinnnnnnfullll food you're sharing there! LOL
ReplyDeletehee..hee...how to stay slim like that :(
DeleteFreak Burger is the best. I will go for it. I think the desserts too rich for my taste. I will cheat on the burger. Lol!
ReplyDeleteYes, the burger is worth all the calories!
DeleteHi Phong Hong, cheat or no cheat day it doesn't matter much to me now cos I'm not so disciplined. I must really find time to do some exercise. .. hee.. hee. Oh Freak Burger looks good and I agree it's pretty expensive.
ReplyDeleteBlessed Christmas to you !
Hi Karen! I am now not so much on diet but more on eating in moderation hee..hee...
DeleteI think it is a waste of money go low carb when eating out at places like this. Spend money dining out must enjoy to the max only considered money well spent, no? :P
ReplyDeleteThat steak, did they just sprinkle alfalfa on top? WTF is that? >.<
I agree! Yes, that's alfalfa. hah..hah..
DeleteKalau I mmg menangis sambil makan steak tu PH.... Yelah bayar mahal tapi ciput @ sikit huhuhu.... Balik rumah sambung nangis sampai esok haha....
ReplyDeleteTak pelah CH sesekali kasi restoren tu untung...
Kan? hah..hah.. menyesal lah pilih yang tu. Tak tau pulak dorang kedekut benar dengan daging tu. Tapi kan, Hainom, at least PH dah cuba dan dapat sebar berita ni pada you all hah...hah...
