It's carb day. Yay! Wahahaha!!! As you can see, I do not demonize carbs (anymore). Carnivore or not.
Carbs will get you into trouble if (1) you over consume and/or (2) you become addicted. And if you eat processed foods, which inevitably are made from carbs and sugars (and artificial flavors/coloring, preservative etc), then you are eating toxins.
When I switched to a meat based diet, I eliminated processed foods and carbs. Once I improved my health (or more specifically metabolic health) I have reintroduced regular food into my diet (carbs) but not processed foods.
I restrict carbs to twice (or at most three times) a week, any more frequent than that, I know that I will get re-addicted to carbs and over consumption (which happened from October 2025 to December 2025. Hence my current 2026 reset).
So. This is one of the days when I can enjoy sourdough bread and all the fixins.
I had this Sourdough, Bacon, Cheese N Eggs before. At that time, I added mushrooms and this breakfast item is served with a salad.
This time, I requested for no salad. I also did not add on mushrooms. I prefer it served like this but it would be better if the bacon and scrambled eggs were served on the side instead of on top of the bread.
But I try not to be overly fussy and irritate the kitchen staff hah...hah...
As with my current practice, I do my best to walk after eating carbs. The number of steps is of course my count for the whole day with about 20-30 minutes contributed post-meal.

Dear PH, that bacon and egg dish looks scrumptious π The coffee is pretty and I love ❤️ the π cup and saucer. I like the quote.
ReplyDeleteThe quote speaks wisdom. I no need to go for a walk after my meal lol. Me doing houseworks in my home sweet home can get me perspire πͺ£ buckets and burn off any possible glucose in my blood. Love the egg mayo and the coffee. Have a good, smooth and happy day ahead!
ReplyDeleteHappy to see that you do not demonize carbs (as you put it...lol) anymore. But, like you said, we cannot overconsume (which you did and that's why there's a reset). I thought I overdid it too (lately) and needed a reset when my sugar readings were not where I want them to be...before realising I was using expired test strips (omg!) and that the readings were inaccurate. Now that I've replaced them, I'm glad that my readings are where it should be (phew, gave me a scare!) and now I can continue to enjoy my carbs & coffee in moderation.
ReplyDeleteDear Kris I had left two more comments in your blog.
DeleteGlad to hear that you know when you can eat carb and when you can't. As long as you are satisfied and you don't feel deprived of food. I know that there are some people who will say, how to enjoy life when doctors say so many types of food, cannot eat.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Wednesday! πΉ
