As usual, everyday (Monday to Saturday) I go and pick up lunch for mum. Since I had to go to the pharmacy, I took a shortcut through The Starling. This was when they were getting ready for the festive decorations.
Judging from how pale the omelette roll was, I suspect there was not much egg content, mostly flour. Tsk!
Then I realized that the pork chop is coated with flour. My mistake for not thinking it through. I could have chosen to remove the coating but that would defeat the point of eating this pork chop. Besides, let me admit that the breading was crispy and delicious. Haiz! LOL!
When I returned to the office, my thoughts became muddled. I couldn't focus. I had 5 jobs on my desk and I couldn't decide which to do first. My thoughts were all over the place. I had to force myself to concentrate.
Lesson learnt. When you experience mental clarity and focus, you will feel the negative effects when you eat something that causes mental fog.

Dear friend, the quote speaks truth! And I love the illustration, too! Your flower photos are beautiful! Mostly flour and not much egg sounds disappointing, and I bet it was!
ReplyDeleteIt is really sad that the restaurant reduced the egg content. I wonder if they had run out of eggs LOL!
DeleteSame here, I also like to look at my neighbour's flowers. The quote is so true, indeed health is wealth. I guess is counted as a carb day because of the floor and sugar.
ReplyDeleteIt was an unintentional carb hah..hah...
Delete*flour
ReplyDeleteGot it!
DeleteOh dear, about the mental fog. Hope you got all 5 completed eventually 💪
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend! 🌹
I think this was a minimal carb day...unlikely to cause that much damage. As for the lightly coloured egg, usually to make omelette rolls, they have to cook it on a very low heat to give them time to roll and that the egg doesn't become too burnt (darkly coloured) for presentation purposes. But if you feel it's too pale with little taste of egg, then it's highly probable that they added water to the egg mixture to thin it out (to make the rolls) and highly unlikely they used flour coz otherwise the egg will taste doughy and it also takes a longer time (with flour) to cook the omelette through. I might be wrong...but that's what I think happened.
