Ya, dilemma of the week hah...hah...hah... I was feeling it for cheese toasties and I was feeling it for another stone pot dish at Luck Farm. But I need to write something new, right?
Besides, there are so many places I have yet to visit. So I decided that I should visit The Neighbour Hoot which I had earmarked for a few weeks already.
As I made my way to the restaurant, I saw the staff (in orange shirt) pacing up and down waiting for diners.
They have a set lunch menu with 6 options - with either pasta or chicken which was not appealing to me although the price range is very attractive.
I looked at the options and settled on the BBQ Pork Coppa Steak served with mashed potatoes and veggies.
I was there slightly past 12:00pm and I had the whole place to myself. After I placed my order, I had this feeling of dread and regret. Maybe I have been eating too many carbs and my state of mind is affected. Who knows?
My choice of Ice Lemon Tea was good because this beverage was not sweet, it was very tart, which suited me perfectly.
Then my meal was served.
Two thin slices of pork which were on the dry side served with sauteed veggies and mushrooms and a mini dollop of mashed potatoes. There was also small serving of peppery sauce.
The veggies were rather pleasant and the best thing on my plate was the (hardly visible) mashed potatoes. I wished there were more. The bright red swoosh, I cannot make out what it was.
I suspect I may not have made the best choice of dish from the menu. But having said that, it was a low carb meal, no?
And due to the modest serving size, I was left wanting. Very.
So.
I adjourned some place else to placate my unsatisfied tummy. Yes, my favorite toastie haven, Toastiful!
I had a Tuna and Red Onion Toastie and Iced Black Coffee with request for my drink to be packed in my trustee container.
Good luck to The Neighbour Hoot. I hope that the other dishes on their menu are loads better than what I selected and that they enjoy the support of the Damansara Jaya neighborhood.
Oh, this was advertised outside the restaurant.
The toasties looked really good. I always love to eat mashed potatoe, it is one of my favourites, mild yet appetising. Was feeling a little under the weather today, defeated by the terrible weather. Have been sleeping a lot and hopefully will recover soon.
ReplyDeleteI was sick too yesterday. Runny nose and feeling very blah. Luckily it was a public holiday. But I am OK today. Hope that you have recovered.
DeleteLooked like you had a good, yummy and enjoyable 2nd half session at Toastiful. Have a good day ahead!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I enjoyed the toasties to the max LOL!
DeleteLol...I just mentioned about your much more frequent carb days these days...and here you happen to mention it too (thinking alike!). In the end, it took a fully-loaded carb meal to satisfy you...wahahahaha! Ouch, that was one (or should I say two) expensive lunch! :D P/S: I think the reddish sauce could be either a beetroot or some kind of berries reduction if I were to guess.
ReplyDeleteThe protein was inadequate - two small and thin slices, hence I makan tak kenyang hah...hah..hah... Yes, I spent a lot of money that day on food. Haiz! Hmmm... from your suggestion, it might have been beetroot.
DeleteThank you for testing out new places for the benefits of your readers π
ReplyDeleteI prefer beef to pork but their beef steak is too expensive for me. π’
Cheese grill sandwich for me anytime. π
I won't get beef steak from non-steak houses, lesson learnt many times. I am now a big fan of grilled cheese sandwiches LOL!
DeleteAm chilling and hiding inside my Aircon Bedroom, weather is terribly hot in June, really cannot tahan.
ReplyDeleteYes, the heat is too intense. Right now it is raining, a welcome respite to the hot weather. But after the rain, most likely it will heat up again >.<
DeleteI think the rather wallet friendly set lunch will attract workers from nearby offices.
ReplyDeleteThose set lunches are possibly what the kitchen can cook better.
