Piggy Parts

Penang Kimberley Duck Kuih Chiap (Kuan Kee) is one of my regular stops for my meaty meals.

The name of the restaurant is a mouthful and in future I will just refer to them as Kimberley Kway Chap.

While crossing the road I noticed something.

Right above myNEWS.com is Premium Hostel Room For Rent. Interesting. I wonder what are their rates and room capacity.

At Kimberley Kway Chap, this is what I ordered.

My favorites :

Pig Head.

Pig Ear.

Pig Intestine.

So good! All that and a glass of iced water for RM22.00.

Then I went for my exercise.

Some time ago, I happened upon a family with two young girls when The Starling was newly opened.

MINISO! MINISO! The two girls squealed (very loudly).

They were so excited and clearly that was their first visit and they love Miniso. Hah...hah... I wished I could experience that kind of glee and joy.

If I were their age, I would most like go crazy about Miniso too.

Then I passed by Tealive. Another thing young people like. I cannot stand tea with milk. So teh tarik or any kind of milk tea is not my thing.

I couldn't resist visiting Popular Bookstore. I am infected with reading fever hah... hah... I was like that when I was a young girl. Books made me happy then and they make me happy now.

I found this book Butter by Asako Yuzuki. This seems like very interesting reading although I prefer non-fiction. I might consider this book.

I laughed when I read the quote "There are two things that I simply cannot tolerate : Feminists and Margarine". Me too.

I am female and I believe in rights for women but I feel that (some) feminists are over correcting/compensating. I honestly don't mind it when men behave in a gentlemanly manner. Like opening doors for me. It doesn't mean that he thinks I am weak, he is just being chivalrous.

Margarine? Yup, I hate margarine. It tastes terrible and is bad for our health.

The concourse is bare again.

But soon it will be full of activities.

  1. Good morning! I love kway chap and I like to order braised pork belly, braised pig big intestines and braised egg. But no to pig ears and pig head. Going to eat it this morning (my planned food and beverage intake) when my neighborhood food centre opens after 4 days of cleaning.

    1. Now I am curious about Long John Sliver's scrambled eggs. Too bad this franchise did not last long in Malaysia.

    2. I am surprised Long John Silver did not last long in Malaysia as it is a Halal brand.

  4. Hi PH, I saw at Popular bookshop there are storybooks about cats, "the travelling cat chronicles" by Hiro arikawa, "the blanket cats" by kiyoshi shigematsu, "we'll prescribe you a cat" by syou ishida and "the calico cat at the chibineko kitchen" by yuta Takahashi, all by Japanese writers I observed.

    1. Oh ya, I saw those books too! I was quite amused but in spite of my love for cats, I doubt if I would buy those books hah...hah...

  5. I agree that the kuey chap eatery name is way too long and different to remember in full the correct order of the words. Nowadays I just eat whatever I feel like eating since I feel full very easily I could only eat one item off my wish list each day.

    1. It is nice to eat what we want to eat. I unfortunately can't when it comes to carbs >.<

  6. That pig head is very fatty, I definitely can't take it. :P I like crunchy fried intestine but always want to try the braised version but worry that it might have unpleasant taste and odour. >_<

    1. That's why I like it - fatty LOL! The braised intestines here don't have any unpleasant taste or smell.

  7. The 3 piggy parts you had here are not my favourites....big intestines (no), small intestines (yesss). I obviously won't eat the head (as it's way too fatty) and dislike the crunchy texture of the ears. I still don't see one of my favourite piggy parts which I always get to have in a bowl of chee chap tong. Perhaps one day when you order that part I would finally know what part that is (my guess for now is tongue).

    1. Oh, they don't have tongue on the menu. Could it be the heart? Let me order that the next time hee..hee...
