Freshly Roasted Duck

The other day I was thinking of roast duck. It has been a while since I ate a duck. Am I right?

As usual I had to have the Kopi C (no sugar). There was not enough milk/creamer in the coffee so it tasted more like Kopi O. But it's OK.

I noted that the price of 1/2 duck had increased to RM46.00. It used to be RM42.00 then up to RM45.00 and now RM46.00. Well, we all know that eating out is becoming more and more expensive.

I waited for quite a while for the duck and when I went to the counter to remind the leng lui about my order, she told me that they are waiting for fresh ones to come out of the kitchen. Ah, it should be worth the wait then.

It was about 30 minutes of wait but I was not upset because I was not in a hurry and the freshly roasted duck was really good.

The skin was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. The size of the duck was slightly smaller than what I remembered.

It was worth the wait due to the quality and taste of the duck but I guess, this will have to be a once in a while indulgence.

After my meal, I went for a walk at The Starling. Even proteins raise glucose levels though not as much as carbohydrates. So a walk was in order.

Upstairs at the food court level I saw this.

Ah! Another ramen restaurant.

Opening in September 2024, in time for my birthday!

This should be interesting.

Mitsuyado Sei-Men is still doing well.

I still have not set foot in Nine Dragon Char Chan Teng.

Fish With You is continuing to do roaring business. I have also not tried this yet.

I revisted Very Thai many months ago but I can't find the photos. It was not a good experience anyway.

I have not been to Madeleine for quite a while.

These days you can get DNA test. Whatever it is, remember that the influence of a gene on a particular characteristic is only about 30%. The rest is dependent on the environment. You must have the right environment for the gene to be expressed.

This reminds me that I want to do a blood test to see if I have improved some markers since the previous test. No, not cholesterol, but inflammation markers.

When I do get my blood test, I will share the results.

Oh, BBQ Ma Eul Cup Bab, has now been replaced by Sottukkung Brothers.

  2. The roasted duck skin looks really crispy. Looks like a very satisfying meal for you. Worth the wait anyway. The world has changed and the society has changed tremendously after COVID. Even climate changes. Only thing that did not change. Price increase and inflation. Lol.

  3. Everything raises glucose levels....haiz...lol. I had a taste of this duck recently (* wink wink*) but wasn't as blown away as you were to come all this way again for it though (but glad I finally tried it). Did agree with you about something that was nice here...hehe (you'll have to find out when my post is published...don't know when lah...lol).

    1. Oh you have been to Donald's! I am not surprised lah that you were not blown away since you have a much more refined palate than me. I bet what you found nice was the coffee? LOL!
